Wine Time #10: Hanging Out with the Hipsters at Scribe Winery in Sonoma, California

in #wine7 years ago

Spring is around the corner and I've been thinking about some of the newer wineries I've wanted to visit lately. I've also been tasting a lot of new wines that I'm excited to share with you.

I thought it'd be fun to share with you a few of the wineries I'm hoping to visit this spring and summer. Here's the first (hipsters unite!).

Scribe Winery, Sonoma, California

Consistently listed on critic's and blogger's lists of the "hippest" wineries in Wine Country, Scribe Winery has developed a cult following amongst the cool. Travel+Leisure called it "the place to go to try California's new wave wines," which include riesling, chardonnay, rose, pinot noir and Sylvaner, a native German white grape that is rare in the US. Tastings take place at the historic Hacienda, a building over 100-years-old that overlooks rolling hills covered in olive trees and vines.

Their wines are highly coveted, with fans like chef Alice Waters, and most recently Amy Schumer, flocking to the winery to stake their seat on the sunny patio. Owned and operated by brothers and 4th generation farmers, Adam and Andrew Mariani, Scribe often hosts chefs for weekend residencies, who prepare farm-to-table, seasonal cuisine at exclusive on-site parties.

Wine to try: Scribe 2017 Rose of Pinot Noir ($38)
Guaranteed to sell out fast, Scribe's rose is made from estate pinot noir grapes. A beautiful, pastel pink shade, it's the result of an early, fast harvest that has created bold and flavorful pinks. It's a fruit forward wine, perfect for picnicking or for a backyard barbecue. Partying hard? Grab a magnum to impress your party goers.

That Rose looks pretty thirst quenching , however my fav part of this article was the phrase "new wave wines" . I imagine like a vinyard bobbing to "gang of four" or "wire" I would like to visit the site looks awesome and as already mentioned that Rose looks good for summer , however Im stuck in frozen London sipping generic cider.

So awesome!!
