the point2¢ents podcast - #4 - Our First Industry Gig with UX Entertainment

I was thinking recently about my first actual job in media production. Funny is that I need to say media, because it certainly wasn’t a film production gig.

My first summer internship was at a small video production company called UX Entertainment in West Hollywood, at the time.

From what I can remember, it was started by Jason Bergh along with some of his friends. I can only recall Matt Pappa’s name, he was the main editor there when we started. He was gone by the time we were finishing our time with them. Both of them were extremely nice and welcoming.

I forgot to include that by WE, I mean Cat and I. We both work as a two for one deal, hahaha.

WE mainly worked with Matt and assisted him with importing miniDV tapes, if you can believe that. If I were to guess what exactly it was they did, I would say they were web content creators, but not limited to the web. They shot and edited their own music videos, web content, and from time to time live performances. We definitely learned a lot there.

Thinking of it now, if I had the presence of mind to have been quick with wanting to learn the business side of things, I bet they would have taught me a thing or two.

I hope they’re all doing well, wherever they are and I wish them success as well.
