History:

Padmanabhaswamy is one of the richest, holiest and most popular temples in entire India.
It's located in also hard to pronounce Thiruvananthapuram - Kerala.
Temple's worth is approximately supposed to be around 22 billion dollars.
Many dark secrets surround the place, caused by sealed room that should hold
a lot of treasures and legends inside.

Created in XVI century Padmanabhaswamy translates its name by:
"Someone who comes out of the Lotus".
There are exactly 108 temples like this one worshipping Vishnu deity.
In the central part of it, we can find Sri Padmanabha - sleeping Vishnu laying on the couch made of snakes, all carved in stone.
It's 6 meters high and 1 meter thick, can be seen while standing in
every single door in the temple except just one.

Since 1729 temple and it's entire wealth have been involved in
Lord Padmanabhaswamy and royal Travancore family.
However, reports of inadequate management of it have caused
that by the decision of Indian Supreme Court it's resources
have been searched and one of the biggest secrets got disclosed.

Hidden treasure:

In 2011 Sunder Rajan, retired Indian cop stated in
Supreme Court that Travancore family manages
the temple wrong and it should be overtaken by the Indian state.
She did it in order to prevent them from destroying the treasures inside.
One of the legends says that many years ago Travancore ancestry
hid huge amounts of riches in the walls and vaults.

As a result of the aforementioned actions,
the Supreme Court appointed a seven-member committee for analysis.
It provided us with the knowledge of six massive vaults blocked by
huge, lockless, iron doors. Only of them aren't open till this day.

In other vaults, we found a lot of worthy items such as:
diamonds, jewelry, pots, golden idol statues, jewel-plated coconut shells and golden coins.
Massive, one hundred and ten-carat diamonds became the most popular
out of all mentioned before. Historians say that it's almost impossible
to guess the exact value of it all, should be approximate:
$20.000.000.000 - $22.000.000.000

Today over two hundred guards, many security cameras and
gates with metal detectors protect the temple from visitors.
It seems, however, that the task is to protect something else,
something that nobody yet discovered.

Chamber B, the secret behind locked doors:

As mentioned before out of 6 vaults only 5 got open, when they got
discovered, the seven-member committee gave them the name of Chambers
listed from A to F. It was extremely time-consuming and hard to get them open.
Chamber B never got open to this day.

In fact, it's not even part of the documented treasure of the temple, no one
knows what secrets lie within these doors. It is said that this room is sacred by nature,
simply because the god of Sri Padmanabha and many
valuables of mystical origin are hidden inside, its walls could even
be covered with solid gold. It's said that whatever hides in there will be the
biggest treasure that has never been discovered
in the history of discoveries from around the world.

Chamber B doors, as well as five mentioned before, don't have any kind of opening
mechanism, it's just pure iron wall locking everything inside, protected by
two massive cobra statuettes. Legend speaks that they can only be open by
very experienced "Sadhu" holding the knowledge of chanting sacred "Garuda Mantra"
Currently no person alive is able to reach the level of „Siddhapurshas” and
understand the power of such extraordinary thing.

Legends and Outcome:

Despite all modern technology, nothing could open the vault.
Many times we tried to do so and many times the outcome was outrageous.
Sunder Rajan, person who started it all died soon after, members
of the seven-member committee got sickly, someone lost his mother by the time of searching.
Those events started many legends about the place being cursed, many think that
it should never be opened or the entire world will collapse soon after.
It's even said that Chamber B is connected directly to the bottom of the ocean and opening it
will flood all that we know. Indian Supreme Court issued a warning before opening the chamber.

Are those legends real? Will Chamber B ever be opened?
Maybe we should never know the answer...

As always, see you next time and thank you for coming!;)

Thanks for the quality history lesson about the place. It is very intriguing! My GINAbot settings sent me a notification because of your use of the term security camera. I'm a residential security expert and love old structures like this one. You can learn a lot about modern ways to defend your home by studying past structures too!

Great , for an additional upvote get. @originalworks
