What is great to see on Steem at the moment is all of the lines of development with various applications, token creation, community drives, Steem alliance and of course, Steemit Inc stopping their full power down. The place seems lively - depending on where you stand.

It is about time.

I feel that over the last four months since HF20, a lot more people are starting to understand the potential and use case of not just Steem, but crypto and Blockchain on general. This coupled with low prices has meant more people have been able to buy in, earn done more Steem and invest themselves, essentially forcing new perspective.

I will be interested to see what Steemit Inc has invested into also but, that will be seen later.

For me, I feel a bit out of touch so have to find some time to catch up on events. It is a good sign in my opinion because it shows how the ecosystem is diversifying and growing.

Adversity tends to bring out the best and worst in people and I think that this long crush has squeezed out a lot of the weight, but left a great deal of concentrated value.

Back to work.

You're correct, Adversity does seems to bring out the best and worst in people, the HF was really a turning point and since then steemit has seen outrageous changes, the DAPP and all, but the truth is not too many people love these progress and development, steamy.inc stops power down? I have a premonition they will start another one

They now Power Down only what they need for 800,000 Steem a month, at least supposedly.

They have been powering down a very long time, it is good in my opinion. It is funny how many people want Steem to do well yet, they don't want it to change - can't have change without changing.

I think that this long crush has squeezed out a lot of the weight, but left a great deal of concentrated value.

they do say when there is a bear market the devs stop looking at their value and get back to work...
DEVS are BUIDLING again :-)
and indeed the atmosphere is a lot more optimistic. lets hope it holds

Perhaps the bear forces them to look at their career and question if they are really willing to make a career out of this or want to do whatever they are currently doing for money. Many want this to work it seems. :)

well I for one can only consider this good news :-)

I hope the price will stay low for 6 to 9 months. I still want to buy more 😊

A bit off topics, but would like to see some of the more top witness's get a little more motivated as well. Some are creating new and awesome dapps while others I haven't seen much from in a while. It will be nice as more and more accounts grow and will have more input on the top witnesses.

squeezed out a lot of the weight, but left a great deal of concentrated value.

It would be nice to see a little more squeezed out before the start of the next bull run.

Yeah, there is various differences in witnesses though, so they don't all have to be dapp makers. I am glad some of them are essentially purely technical and interested in keeping the chain healthy in various ways. We tend to have abit of an issue when it comes to, out of sight, they must be lazy. It isn't necessarily true.

I get that and I don't want all the top witnesses to be dapp developers, but just like Steemit Inc they need to be transparent in what they are working on. In a way they're elected politicians and need to be help accountable by the people for sharing all the hard work they're putting in even if we have no idea what it means to ensure they're "earning their keep"

A little sarcasm in there, but TLDR I know all aren't programmers, just wish they'd give value-added updates every once in a while so we can thank them for their hard work.

It is indeed great to see so many new things in the steem blockchain and on regular basis, @tarazkp.

I would agree there is fresh potential and low prices so this should nurture growth and bring bountiful harvest of ideas, developments and of course growth. Thanks @tarazkp

Let's see how it goes but I do think that there is a lot of potential in the growth of Steem over the next two to three years. As you know, I look longer than that but I think that will be the time it takes to really start to see what is possible.

I also get the same sense and the fact that the price has been able to continue range bound is a good sign of demand and supply balance. The bottom may have been established as long as bitcoin also stabilizes. If the parties involved in the new focused roadmap are able to execute, we could see a good 2019 in terms of sustainability for the ecosystem which is fundamental.

It is likely going to cost us all a little in the short-term but, that is fine for the long-term view of things. I am sure that many are going to complain if rewards get trimmed to finance development and, their expectations will increase even further.

We were going over out options for the SBC (Steems Sports Betting Community) and when we do all the SWOTs about the different option, Steem keeps on popping up as number 1.
It has great solid base, a even greater community and lot's of creative people trying to create Dapps.
The more the better!
We were thinking about setting up an independent website, tried out Scorum, but in the end we will always come back to Steem.
Personally I am now more than 1 year on steem and learning each and every day. It also dawned to me, that it is not only important to be active on Steem, but also outside of Steem. We can brag all we want about steem but if we only do this on the steem platform, few people outside steem will know.
That's why I did reactivate my blogger blog. Trying to give steem more exposure!
Cheers,
Peter

I am recently started getting very active in FB Groups dedicated to Steemians in Davao City, Philippines 😊

There are many options that will come but Steem is still one of the ones that is going to offer a well rounded selection of potential that is suitable for many. The ability to create easily for Steem is going to become a vital competitive advantage in the coming year or two.

It for sure is. We are now investigating if the MVP of SMT could suit us!
Steem is still not even a teenager! Let it mature at it’s own pace and I can become a great and fine adult!
