Your Christmas Weekend Tarotbit Forecast

I couldn’t believe it when I drew these cards. Together – and two out of three – individually are THE celebration / gathering cards. If my deck could talk English, I think it would have said: Happy Holidays!

First, we get the four of Swords for today, Saturday December 23rd.

Yes, the imagery can definitely have a morose feel to it; it’s frequently said that the man looks like he’s laying on a tomb – dead. But in the context of Christmas weekend, you can take the 4 of Swords to mean rest and relaxation. It’s time to take a break from everything else in your life, and just be, and contemplate. If you’re hosting an event, or even if you are a straggler saving the Christmas drive for Christmas eve, this card reminds you to Chill the F*$K out, at least for today before family arrives or you leave. Take some me time if you can (or duck into a spare room) and just breathe from all the holiday excitement.

Our Christmas eve Card, for Sunday, December 24th, is the Three of Cups.

In it we see three women gathered around and holding up their cups in celebration. Notice the blue skies, and abundance of fruits and foliage beneath their feet…this is a time of surplus (if not excess!) This is a major celebration, and 99% of the time women, or at least ‘feminine’ energy will be the dominant force. In relationship readings, it can totally have other meanings, but that’s another post for another day! If you’re not out celebrating, it can also represent a time for community based creative activities.

For Christmas Day, Monday, December 25th, we have the Four of Wands.

This is another celebration card. Quite literally it represents a home based party or homecoming. Notice the women dressed in their finest, bearing bouquets to bring to the presumed banquet in the castle, there’s another group of people in the distance arriving too. Everything here indicates abundance and happiness. Now this is something called a stage card too – look at the bottom of the card and notice it’s not ground…it looks like a platform or stage, which depending on the cards surrounding it can indicate all is not as it seems, or that the people in the picture are putting on some sort of a show. Who can’t deny putting on an act for our friends and family comes with the holiday territory ;-) Overall though, this reading screams: Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Relax, enjoy friends, family, and appreciate all your blessings.

If I have time over the weekend, I’ll go more in depth about each card. In full disclosure, I should let you know that when I shuffled the deck, the Two of Swords popped out. I’m not one for ignoring jumpers, as they can add another dimension to the reading. The quickest summary of the Two of Swords I can think of is ‘a tough choice between two things’. In this context, I’d say maybe you have to choose where you’ll be spending the weekend, and either way you’ll piss someone off. It’s another stage card too – meaning maybe you’re just being dramatic, and everyone understands. If there’s some holiday choice you need to make, just go with your gut, and try to enjoy yourself!

(I upvoted myself. It's my Xmas gift!)
