Hydragea: A Rare Flower to be Found in Our Province

in #steemph7 years ago

This picture was taken by my groupmate yesterday.

Yesterday as we go to the indwelling house of our senior. This Flower caught the attention of my groupmates as hydrangea can be rarely seen here in province. And only an expert can tell what kind of Flower is it. As a person who love to read and explore things I am who says the name of the flower to my groupmates as they don't know what it is. But due of being so unforgetful I pronounce it incorrectly I called it hi-dra-gae.

Fun Facts about Hydragea

• There are around 70-75 species of hydrangea.

• They grow EVERYWHERE. From Southern Asia
to the Americas.

• Hydrangea lovers beware, do not EAT them,
they are moderately toxic.

• In Asia, giving someone pink hydrangeas
symbolizes that you are the beat to their heart.

• The flower was apparently first discovered in
Japan.

• No shock value here, keep your hydrangeas
hydrated. They are very thirsty flowers.

• The colors of the flowers are affected by the
aluminum ions in the soil.

• They are produced from early spring to late
autumn. (This is the reason why I tell you all
that it is too rare to see here because we only
had two season: Summer and Rainy Season)

• Hydrangeas produce their main flower clusters
from the tips of shoots formed from the
previous season.
• Apparently, they are Madonna's least favorite
flower.
