I'm new to steemit. Any tips?

I signed up for steemit yesterday and so far I think it's pretty great! 

I wanted to make a post I can use for tips about this website from you guys. I've watched the videos and it all seems to be pretty basic as long as you know a few key details.

Tips:

Make sure to post pictures or videos with your content, format well, use proper english and spelling, be active on the site and make sure you post things people might actually care about. 

Other than that, what have you all done to make your account a little bit of money?
