I thought it was relevant with that post. The post referenced a suggestion to new Steemians about how to improve the platform. No one else complained about it however, because it offended you I did remove it.

It's not that it offended me. Also, there's no central authority here, that's just my point of view based more on tradition of that category. It "should" be used for presenting oneself for the first time to the community.

It's popular so it's very tempting to use it for various other occasions, including targeting newcomers.
While in my opinion it's not a good use of that tag, I also must honestly admit that current way of categorizing content doesn't give good way to do that.

Anyway, when I use this category I'm expecting to see posts of people that just joined Steem and making their first steps. Introduction post is a good way to do it but it's getting harder and harder to filter out posts that are not in fact introductions.
