What is wrong with The Champions?

Another disappointing evening for the whites who just had their copadeyrel dreams shatter in front of their eyes and painfully their home fans, this was a game the champions went into with so much confidence given their away victory to the leganes team, 0-1 in the first leg. Here i was thinking the second leg would be an equal or greater result than the first leg.(Although there was the tiny doudt in the corner of my thoughts though) but i couldn’t imagine it being be a reality a last. Giving the los blancos team is a cluster of superstars i need not begin to mention names,Its just so obvious real madrid are or were a team that is more than capable of coming back from a 2 goal down and eventually winning the game in a little amount of time left on the clock. But it looks like those good old day are long gone.

First of all I’d say the los blancos gave it their all but wasn’t all lethal in front of goal. I’m sayinig this regardless of the first 45 mins of the game in which they found themselves a goal down, thanks to a beautiful goal from the leganes tailsman Eraso and error from the real madrid defense to keep the los blancos on their tail, before half time.The leganes team showed composure and character against what I’ll say a half B and C madrid team.

And then came the 2nd half
And the whites came in roaring back. i believe the real madrid’s boss zidane words during the interval were “Get in there and grab the equalizer and then go for the game”. And I’ll say the former was beautifully played out on the field but not the latter and just two minutes into the game the equalizer came in thanks to karim Benzema from an acute angle to make it 1-1.
At this point I thought i would see a symptoms of weariness from the opposition side but the reverse was the case as the leganes team showed that spark of life and push the loss blancos into their own halves in search winning back possession or relieving the pressure

The leganes team was on fire. Couple of chances they created and made the 2nd choice los blancos goal keeper busy all through the night , before restoring their lead with a fine header from Gabriel from a well delivered coner kick in the 52min At the point the frustration grew in for the champions. And they itched for another equalizer.
Dont get me wrong madrid had a couple chances thanks to the introduction of modric in the middle of the park during the game but that wasn’t enough to secure a win or at least a draw at home, and in the end the leganes team were victorious and made the champions see them selves out of the competition in yet another season.
