Is Steemit worth it?

in #steem7 years ago

First time Steemit users look up at the few users making thousands of steem dollars everyday and try to imitate them. Hoping for the same outcome. Some may think it is easy money, some just do it for fun.

The mistake many people are doing is, that they will earn so much money without much work or any patience at all.

If you are one of those, I might have to tell you

Quit Steemit once and for all

No matter where it is, money can only be earned by hard work.
Of course, Steemit is kind of a innovation. A social media, people write posts and get money.

Wrong

On the outside it might look like that, but the meaning is a little bit more complex.
People on here don't really care about memes or nonsensical posts.
If you really want to earn some upvotes and popularity, inform the masses. Give them either entertainment or cognitive stimulation.
We want to think about a certain topic, discuss or simply laugh about.

And most importantly

Don't force yourself to write something, talk about topics that you think about. Maybe that you find controversial.
Put your heart into it, write more than a few sentences, so we can see that you at least put some effort in it.

Rome wasn't built in a day, build your foundation brick by brick. And when you are finished, you can proudly look at your work.
Everyone has a talent, use your creativity, your wits. Whatever you want. Describe details very thoroughly, that way your readers can look through your eyes.
We want to know how you think and give our own opinion on that matter.

Information

If you are new, please read a few posts before writing your own. Get accustomed to Steemit before you begin.
No war has been won without intel. How is the community? What do they like?
So many questions that you have to answer first.
It is like bike riding, get the feeling, then go with the flow. BUT show us that you are unique, not some copycat, copy pasting news articles or other users.

All in all, have fun updating your blog and feel free to support other users by commenting and upvoting.

Preach it my man ! I fully agree with everything you said.

Much appreciated, I have told some friends about Steemit, sadly they quit after a week. They only saw the money, and when they realized every post only gets a handful of upvotes, they stopped completely.

That's a good and realistic approach!

Let's face it, you get ZERO for posting on Farcebook, Instagram or elsewhere. Steemit is basically another social content platform... it's not a place that hands out money for free. People need to remember they were not given a "job" by Steemit, they were offered an opportunity.

I very much agree with this. Seeing a lot of copy paste articles lately.
