SUGGESTION TO IMPROVE THE STEEMIT COMMUNITY: NOTIFICATION

Hello Steemians,
I would love to highlight a challenge that i have encountered during my short stay on this platform, i believe there are other Steemians who tow this line of thought with me and would love to see this feature added to the platform. I strongly believe if this feature is added, it will bring members if this community closer to each other no matter how far apart we are geographically.
On several occasions, one would make a post and mention names of certain individuals in appreciation or commendation. Another instance you could mention a person in form of a a nomination for something or you might want to draw someones attention to a post or contest or event publicity,etc.
However,no matter the form the mentioning may take,the mentioned person may never know or be aware except he/she visits the blog of the mentioner or happen to stumble on it. This is quite discouraging as it waters down the effect of a post.
I'll suggest that @ned and @dan should try and consider this. It will greatly improve user's interaction and relation. Moreso it would add to the glorious image of the community Thank you.

I am a proud Steemian and seek the increased glory, growth and development of Steemworld!!
