Sevilla achieved the Champions League quarterfinals out of the blue in the wake of beating Manchester United, 2-1, on Tuesday behind two second-half objectives from the substitute Wissam Ben Yedder.

Ben Yedder scored in the 74th moment — two minutes in the wake of going ahead — with a low shot from 12 yards out, and after that sent in a header off a corner that United goalkeeper David De Gea could just repel into his own net in the 78th.

That left United behind by 2-0 on total, and requiring three objectives to progress as a result of the away-objectives run the show. Romelu Lukaku pulled one once more from short proximity in the 84th however a late rally couldn't avoid United slipping out of the opposition.

Ben Yedder, a previous futsal player for France, has eight objectives in this current season's opposition, and he even missed a possibility for a cap trap as United's guard went into disrepair in the last stages. Just Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo — with 12 objectives — has more.

Sevilla last came to the round of 8 of the opposition in 1958, when it was known as the European Cup. It joins kindred Spanish group Real Madrid in Friday's draw for the quarterfinal round.
