in #spices7 years ago (edited)

Hi Stemians! Long does not make writing. Honestly we miss with this app. Actually there are many who want to be divided, because there are some things that need to be prepared, we must postpone it. It's the first post after a few months of writing and sharing a vacuum in Steemit.

Trumon Main Fort

Some time ago, rawohnanggoe has the opportunity to visit rich old land in the past. The country was named Trumon.

Trumon is known as one of the important spices of the Aceh Sultanate spice trade. The results from Trumon earth even to the United States and some European countries. The Kingdom has also printed its own currency.

Unfortunately in the mid-19th century, Trumon slowly lost his reputation as a spice supplier. This is due to Dutch dominance and monopoly. Now Trumon is just a sub-district in South Aceh.

In the former capital, Keude Trumon still remains evidence of its glory. The settlement is near the mouth of the river, has many historical sites such as the Kuta Batee Fortress Complex, King's House, King's Tomb, mosque and Keude Trumon Old Housing. In addition, also many historical objects that have been found such as swords, royal flags, cannons and glassware.

Distance from National Road, Tapaktuan-Subulussalam Line about 16 kilometers or 25 minutes with two-wheeled vehicles. Entering this area, here and there visible fields, oil palm plantations and vacant land. Agriculture and gardening have been the main occupations in the region, for a long time.

Arriving at the Trumon Sub-District Center, the classical impression instantly changed. The atmosphere is so calm. Some buildings and sub-district facilities have many cannons on display in the yard. The team also had time to stop at the wharf, possibly here former Trumon's old port ever existed. A few moments there, we visited the monumental building remnants of the heyday, the Fort of Kuta Batee.

The Fort of Kuta Batee reportedly started to be established in 1770 and finished 1802. This royal defense center has several other buildings, such as court hall, sula house (prison) and old well. With a height of four meters and an area of about 60 X 60 meters, this fort is one of the largest forts in the West-South Coast of Aceh.

Now all is gone. Slowly, the remnants of the glory began to wear out. "Nothing I left for you my country, other than [peri-golomon?] my life". - King of Trumon.

The sentence was scratched on an inscription in the old courtyard of King Trumon's house. The expression of the heart of the last king who loves a land that has been painstakingly built by his forebears. The Dutch had forced him to submit.[]
