What If Dreams Are Glimpses From Our Parallel Universes?

There are many mysteries that we have yet to solve. In fact, when you notice just how much we don't know, you will feel like we have barely scratched the surface in terms of what we already know.

In a way, this is exciting as there is so much to explore and what are we humans if not explorers? It is in our very nature to be inquisitive and to solve puzzles that simply don't mean anything to the other inhabitants of this planet.

Take the case of dreams for instance. Why do we dream? What is the meaning of any given dream? And what purpose do dreams serve? These are questions we don't fully have answers to. Another thing that scientists have theorized and predicted but we don't have conclusive proof on are parallel universes.

Now, what if our dreams are actually glimpses from our lives in these parallel realities? This is a question that popped into my head while I was taking a shower. Aren't shower-thoughts amazing? Well, let's think about this particular thought.

Window To Other Realities?

In some theories, scientists have predicted that there might be an infinite number of parallel universes out there. By definition, all of these universes exist at the same time, all "happening" at once, hence the name "parallel universe".

It is also stated by some scientists that infinite versions of you might exist in these infinite realities. So, for instance, if you are a doctor in this reality, maybe you are a lawyer in another one. And maybe you are a president in yet another one. So many possibilities!

So, what if, when we are dreaming, we are actually experiencing the first-person view of our parallel reality self? Since their lives would be totally different, the "dream" would seem totally alien to us but at the same time, feel real.

When we wake up, we get disconnected from that reality just as how the internet gets disconnected if you turn off the wifi router. Very interesting to think about, don't you think?
