Steem Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 4 Review and Match Prediction

in #sfpl7 years ago

The transfer window is closed, the national break is over and the Premier League is back. Match week will once again bring us big games. Manchester City is hosting Liverpool while Tottenham will try to get three points at Everton.

Manchester City - Liverpool

As Manchester City had a quiet final day of the transfer window, you can't say the same about Liverpool. Rumours of Coutinho leaving must have had some sort of impact on the squad. Just as they hope the new arrival of Oxlade-Chamberlain will have an impact immediately. Jurgen Klopps impact on Liverpool when playing the bigger clubs is not to be questioned.

To these numbers you can add a win against Arsenal this season. Manchester City, though, is something else. I expect a draw in this game, which both teams might be fine with.

Predicted Lineup (Manchester City): Ederson, Kompany, Stones, Otamendi, Walker, Bruyne, Fernandinho, D. Silva, Danilo, Agüero and Jesus.

Missing Players: Sterling (suspended) and Gündogan (injured)

Predicted Lineup (Liverpool): Mignolet, Gomez, Lovren, Matip, Robertson, Can, Henderson, Coutinho, Salah, Mané and Firmino.

Missing Players: Lallana, Bogdan, Clyne and Ings (all injured).

Note: Coutinho is a big risk to have on your team. He did play for Brazil during the break, but nobody knows if he will play for Liverpool. Many websites do not predict him to play, but I do. He is too important for Liverpool to miss for this game.

Everton - Tottenham

Tottenham is undefeated in the last nine matches against Everton, while Everton is undefeated against Tottenham in the last nine games when hosting Spurs. I could easily see this be a draw, and it's a result both teams will be satisfied with. Spurs might have the better chance, with Eriksen and Alli playing extremely well at the moment.

Predicted Lineup (Everton): Pickford, Keane, Williams, Jagielka, Holgate, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Baines, Rooney, Sigurdsson and Ramirez.

Missing Players: Mori, Barkley, Coleman, Bolasie (injured).

Predicted Lineup (Spurs): Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier Dembele, Son, Alli, Eriksen and Kane.

Missing Players: Lamela, Rose, Nkoudou, Wanyama (injured) Llorent (75 % chance of playing)

Note! Serge Aurier and Llorente is a doubt as they both arrived on the deadline day. I have predicted Aurier to start as he is a strong improvement of Trippier.

Stoke - Manchester United

Stoke has impressed me so far. Not only because I'm an Arsenal fan and they beat us, but because they are playing well, are well organised, and finally seem to have forgotten their old physical playing style. The signings of Wimmer and Jese are great, and Jese has already made his impact. As Phil Jones and Bailly are both suspended for the first Champions League game, he might start Smalling and Lindelöf to get them ready, but I doubt it. Lindelöf has looked like a championship player in his games, and I don't expect him to play. I expect Manchester United to dominate this game, but it won't be as the first three games. I see a 0-1 or 2-1 victory for Mourinho.

Predicted Lineup (Stoke): Butland, Wimmer, Shawcross, Indi, Cameron, Allen, Fletcher, Pieters, Jese, Shaqiri and Choupo-Moting.

Missing Players: Ngoy, Afellay Ireland (injured) Kurt Zouma is a doubt.

Predicted Lineup (Manchester United): Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Rashford, Mkhitaryan and Lukaku.

Missing Players: Zlatan, Rojo (long term injuries) Young, and Shaw (won't play)

Match Prediction Game

Match Prediction

The Matchweek game is simple. For all the matches you will have to predict the outcome.

For example:

Arsenal - Leicester

1- Arsenal will win

X - Draw

2 - Leicester will win.

The best three will win. The rewards will be paid in SBD. 50% of the SBD will go towards the winners and the remaining 50% will be added to the SFPL prize pool.

Just to be clear, everyone can enter in the Prediction Game, not just the participants in the SFP League.

Simply copy/paste the fixtures and add your predictions in the comment section. I will copy all entries into one comment 10 minutes before the game starts to prevent ninja edits, remember though that every change is saved onto the blockchain.

Man City - Liverpool

Arsenal - Bournemouth

Brighton - West Brom

Everton - Spurs

Leicester - Chelsea

Southampton - Watford

Stoke - Man Utd

I have been eagerly anticipating this post following the international break. Only three games into the season and we have a bloody break - irritates me every year!

Anyway, time for some predictions... Cheers @acidyo!

I feel you but, better an international break than no break. Here in MLS (Major League Soccer in Canada & U.S.A.), teams keep playing during these ''international duty'' weeks with the result that they put B to B+ lineups on the field, in a league already at a lower level than EPL.

Yeah, it's just that the break is 3 games into the season. Things are warming up nicely, then it's 2 weeks with nothing - just boring internationals.

Fielding B lineups would be rubbish, and it's more likely that players would pickup last minute 'injuries' to avoid internationals (especially friendlies). Ryan Giggs/Fergie were the best at doing this!

Yes, I hate those breaks too. Another thing is that teams must often fill in for skipped games later in the year and sometimes have to play almost 3 games during a single week (Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday).

Yep, thus negatating the point of a 'break'!

Well we are back on Saturday, my team looking for 4 wins in a row! 👺👺👺

A small mention of this awesome 'community' in my blog today. Cheers all!
