This might be of interest to individuals who will like to start selling on Amazon as I just responded to a question which a Quora member asked.

With Amazon, you can sell in any of its marketplaces and all you have to do is simply to open an account with any country of your choice as it is extremely easy to do so. As at 2018, Amazon has marketplaces in the following countries:

United States of America (Headquarter)

United Kingdom

France

Italy

Spain

Germany

Canada

Mexico

Japan

China

Australia

India

Austria

Singapore

Netherlands

Anyone can register to sell in either of these marketplaces or even in multiple locations as Amazon is not against an individual registering to sell in any of the countries where it has marketplaces, provided you understand and can speak the language of such countries. There are two main ways of selling on Amazon and this is:

Fulfilled by Merchant (popularly called FBN)

Fulfilled by Amazon (popularly called FBA)

If you are not resident in a particular country and you wish to be selling into that country via Amazon, you will have to use its FBA system to sell to potential buyers and customers. In this case, your best option will be to go for private label option (this will be another write-up where I will explain in detail what is "private label"). With this option, you will have to have an agreement with your manufacturer to help with affixing your Amazon label and will also ship your items directly to the Amazon fulfilment centre that will be specified from your seller central account.

To answer your question, you can sell into Amazon India from Canada, the first thing to do is to open an account with Amazon India. See the attached image when I click to sell on Amazon link. It does not matter whether you sell as an individual or a company provided you are able to meet Amazon requirements with regard to opening a seller account. The best way in which you can sell in India is with Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and you will have to go through the route of private label or sourcing in large quantities in which your supplier/manufacturer will be able to help you with fixing the Amazon labels and shipping it directly also to an Amazon fulfilment centre which will be given you at the point where you list your items on Amazon.

Out of all the online marketplaces around at the moment, Amazon is still my number one choice for a complete beginner or even an advanced e-commerce seller as your products is open to the millions of Amazon customers that shops on a daily basis with Amazon and if you do your listing correctly, that is pure organic traffic with no advertising costs.
