Fixing a burnt out candle

in #recycling4 years ago

Last Christmas my daughter gave me a smelly candle for my man cave , doesn’t sound very man cave but I decided to try it anyway and like all candles they eventually burn down but the seemed to still be a lot of the wax remaining which seemed a waste so I went on eBay and for a few pounds I got a pack of 10 new wicks to see if I could reuse the remaining wax

I thought if I placed the candle in a pan off water and warmed up the wax it should melt around the new wick

Being carful not to heat the water to fast so I wouldn’t crack the glass I applied heat and it wasn’t to long before I could see the wax staring to melt

It wasn’t to long before all the wax had melted

As you can see the was still most of the wax left, you could probably do this a number of times

What do you think is it worth doing or am I just tight. Thanks mike
