Rape and Sexual Abuse

Today, I remember my friend from afar, who couldn't survive the state of the coma she got into after she was gang-raped
by armed robbers. I wish her soul rests in peace.

I am quite young and have lived on this earth for a few long years and I have seen, read and witnessed and heard things that have broken my heart a thousand times over and topping the list is the issue of rape and sexual abuse.

From the cases of fathers raping their children to death, to the cases of brothers and sisters sexually abusing their siblings, to the cases of a pastor or spiritual head abusing his followers and to the armed robbers who break into homes, raping women, girls and children irrespective of their age and the pleas; all of these shatters my heart and it makes me wonder where we missed it.

Is it the lack of sexual education or the exposure of porn?
Is it the issue of raging hormones and confusion as to what to do with all the emotions and feelings?
Is it something spiritual or is it simply the lack of self-control?
Or could it just be plain wickedness and human choosing to be inhuman?
