The American Plantation - History Seldom Mentioned - Pt1

I have been wanting to write some posts on true history, and I figured why not start with History of the American Plantation. Yes, you read that right, we started out as a group of Plantations. And as I move along through history, starting in the 1600's on up, we will discover together the true history that you were never taught. Together we will discover why our government does not work for us, and also learn some things that you never thought possible.

So buckle up, it's about to get a lil bumpy on this trip.

You may or may not know, that the United States of America is a corporation. The home of USA Inc. is Washington DC, or the District of Columbia. Here is the corporate flag, 3 stars and 2 bars:

Every country is a corporation, so are most towns, cities, counties, and states.

You can drive through just about any town or city in the US, and see the incorporated signs as you drive in. Take a look at any state seal, or county seal and you will find the word incorporated in such and such year. Example:

Incorporated District, Boroughs, and Townships in the County of Philadelphia, 1854

And to further prove it to you:

Yes, there is an address for the White House, in Edinburgh Scotland.

So without further delay, let's jump in shall we?

It all started in the 15th century, whereby the expeditions of Columbus, and Cabot were granted privileges and letters patent by the King and Queen of Spain, and King Henry of England.

Columbus - 4/30/1492
Cabot - 3/5/1498

Well as we all know, land was discovered, perhaps taken is more appropriate word, since there were native populations that were deceived and or conquered for their lands. We could spend hours on reading up on Columbus and his misadventures, likewise for Cabot. However, let's move along to the 17th century.

Most people do not know that we started out as a group of plantations, and these plantations were, and are owned by the British Crown. If you take a look at the link below, and read the 1st Virginia Charter of 1606, you can very plainly read the text for yourself. The Virginia Company, a collective of the London Company, and the Plymouth Company, was granted a charter by King James 1, to establish settlements, otherwise known as plantations or habitations, in the area from modern day Virginia up to New England.

The First Charter of Virginia; April 10, 1606

You should also take note of the language used in the charter, wherein it states:
"And whereas also for the greater Good and Benefit of the said Company, and for the better Furtherance, Strengthening, and Establishing of the said Plantation, we did further GIVE, GRANT and CONFIRM, by our Letters-Patents unto the said Company and their Successors, for ever, all those Lands, Countries or Territories, situate, lying and being in that Part of America called Virginia, from the Point of Land called Gape or Point Comfort all along the Sea Coasts to the Northward two hundred Miles"

For more information, and the language used, read the following additional charters:

The Second Charter of Virginia; May 23, 1609
The Third Charter of Virginia; March 12, 1611

The Virginia Company Failed in 1624. The Company failed to find gold or silver, but was successful with tobacco. However, the Jamestown Massacre of 1622 was seen as unfavorable, so the King disbanded the Company. The right to self-govern remained, and the plantation, or colony if you will, became a Royal Colony in 1624. You can also read up on the Charter of New England:

The Charter of New England : 1620

Take note of these particular ordinances for the First Colony of Virginia, ie. The City of London:
Ordinances for Virginia; July 24-August 3, 1621
More on the topic of The City of London, to come later.

This is the end of Pt. 1 as this is quite a bit to take in, if you have followed the links and did the reading.

In Pt. 2 we will skip ahead and examine the charter of Pennsylvania and move on from there.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day.
