I fell,
I never thought I’d see it coming,
Mother crying as I’m laying inside of a casket,
Hurt, lost and cold,
The high that once felt like scarlet's,
now feels so low,

I rode,
Through the dangers of this addiction,
I now lay within my blue-velvet suit in deep remission,
Once upon time, I rode the highs of life events,
but now I spend my time inside of a casket,
like freak accidents.

I soared,
Through my parents screaming for me to stop,
Through my kids, who eyes stabbed me with tear-drops,
Through my wife, who stayed by my side at nights,
as my withdrawals caused me to rot.
Through the deep-hurt that pushed this pain,
The dopamine-love still consumed,
My brain.

I learned,
Through the last bottle that I swallowed,
Through the final-goodbyes of tomorrow,
This poem is for the lost and the empty,
To the ones whose sons and daughters still envy,
To the one whose parents yell for their safety,
To the ones who wives and husbands fight the countless nights ,
Be free from the past
And live life with clear path
Don’t let the term, drug addict,
Become your final casket.

Hey guys, took another day break, I should be uploading twice a day like usual, haha! sometimes even I get some writers block and it sucks <;3 But today I bring you a poem about addiction, I wrote it inorder to help others (pun) going through struggles, no matter if it's drugs or just whatever, I hope you can find value in this poem, I still have a long way to go before I feel like my poetry is really good, but I hope you can join me on my journey! As always, if you support my work, upvote, comment or resteem, either one of the three makes my day! Cheers!
