Come What May

in #poetry7 years ago

The feeling of loss that precedes every heartbreak,

The reaching of faith that comes before an execution,

The drying of tears when the weak become strong,

Is all that goes into being the person you wanted to be for so long.

I don’t know what one does to minimize their pain,

Is there a shortcut key or is it just plain denial?

The people that care and the people that never leave

Those are the people that will set us all free.

When the going gets tough and you need a little rain,

There must always be hope that you’ll catch the days last train.

Because life has to go on, come what may.

Because the world has to go on, come what may.

There are days that are dark in weeks of sunshine,

Just like there are the valleys between the high mountains.

There are sometimes more questions to the answer

Like the tributaries of a widespread river.

All things natural come from the earth and go back to it

Even if judgement day arrives and the world is no more,

At least we have our memories with us,

In this life and the next.

There is always a ray of joy in every vacuum of darkness

There is always a pass to cross over the valley,

There are always answers to the questions

There are always boats to wade through the river.

Come what may, you will always find a way.

Come what may, you will someday know the right thing to say.
