ADSactly Poetry - A Collection of Short Poems to Inspire (Part 3)

You never know when it could happen. But when it does happen its absolutely amazing.

I've felt it on several occasions. I'm talking about that 'aha' moment. It's like being on a higher plane. I'm not talking about drugs, I'm talking about natural euphoria, perhaps what they refer to as nirvana.

I may not exist in a perpetual state of it but had a taste of it. Poetry and anything thats creative for that matter offers a chance.

Its that space between thoughts in which given enough time can provide ample resources for a connection to true wellbeing and happiness.

Today I've brought you two short poems in which I hope you'll enjoy and hope may bring about some of the feelings described above.

So without any further distraction, I give you this first poem I've written entitled 'The River.'

The River

Green and blue with hues of truth a raging river twists through a beautiful valley.... the land of the dude.

The dude is wise and the dude is cool. The dude lives for the day cause he’s nothing but smooth.

The river glistens in the sun glimmering flickering through the day as it meanders around and it makes its own way.

With rushing waters and rocks and otters. Life is great for its mothers and daughters.

The dude paddles slow in his boat all alone as the river flows he's got nowhere to go. And if you knew the dude you'd see how he's smooth, he's got nowhere to go cause he's already home.

Wouldn’t it be great to live the life of the river?

This next poem was a lot of fun to write... Abstract topics like this one can really be the best suited for true expression.

It's hard to seize the moment and really take advantage of the time we have at our disposal.

Only a madman would waste it if they truly understood how little of it we really have.

Experience is there waiting for you, reach out and grab it!

Oceans of Time

We can’t see it we can’t touch it but we can see the effects.
It keeps ticking along and it’s easily spent.
Some to waste none to lose quite a bit lost in trade.

All born with some but no moment guaranteed.
If we had oceans of time what would life be?
Regrets of days wasted away simply roaming the streets.
If each moment is precious why don’t we treat them as such…

In the hope of immortality it’s been pursued in great lust.
Have I got oceans of time or is it lost in my rhymes?
The way it goes by has much to do with the mind.

Time flies in unfettered fun.
It slows to a grinding halt in boredom’s regrets drenched in rum.
In oceans of time one may just go blind.
It’s lost its value in mediocrity without its familiar signs.

In youth and old age its spent in different ways.
Who wouldn’t love to go back and repeat our most cherished days?
Here are oceans of time frozen in just a few lines.

Thoughts

I find it enjoyable bringing characters and ideas to life.

There's something about creative writing that really removes the bonds of everyday life and allows us to truly be free and explore!

We can find ourselves exploring places that we may have never imagined going as we make our way through the day to day moments of our lives.

Did these poems affect you in any way? If so, please do tell below in the comments section!

Dear @Zentalk, your poems touch on deep themes and do so by touching the edges of a sensitivity that is gentle, but does not reject a certain background of vital anguish and melancholy. Yet they are not sad but embrace life from the images.
It seems to me, moreover, that your reflection on writing is very accurate. In my experience (as a writer, but above all as a reader) poetry illuminates the contours of reality - and what reality communicates from the mute being of things - and does not show them in the way that only language can do it: penetrating our senses, our minds and our souls.
Yes, that "Aha!" has depth, angles and dimensions.
A hug.

I would like to have oceans of time to stop me, to stop me to observe, to listen, to smell, to feel. I want to have an ocean of time to give to the sick, to the old man, to the lover. I want to have an ocean of time to sow it, to save it for when I no longer have time and need it. I would like to have an ocean of time to give to my elderly mother and that the tree of life in her grows back. How many of us need seas of time to go on living? Greetings, @zentalk

Two very poetic topics, @zentalk : the river and time. His poems are made of simple and very significant images. In the case of "The River", I value this poetic phrase: "The river glistens in the sun glimmering flickering through the day as it means around and it makes its own way ". The allusion to the stillness and spiritual enjoyment of life and nature, made me think of the famous book by Henry Thoreau, Walden; unfortunately such a distant life in these times. In relation to "Oceans of Time", I particularly appreciate his phrase: "In oceans of time one may just go blind". And he associated both images of the river and time with the famous aphorism of Heraclitus: "In the same rivers we enter and we do not enter, [then] we are and we are not [the same]". The passage of the river that is the very evolution of life that flows, and is different every moment, but the same. "We are the river ", would say Jorge Luis Borges. Thank you for sharing your poems, and encourage our reflections, @zentalk.

You create beauty of the poem. Your works inspire to comment with this words. I hope you accept it.

all the time flows like a tributary
he will continue to descend towards the open sea certainly
the journey of life is like a steady stream of water
to one stop point; sea, sea death, dear

it's not a matter of dying, honey, not at all
death is just a door to open a new chapter
a door of time that will be the way to another dimension
how death will bring you to life is far more meaningful

In the clear water of eternal life
you will find worthy retribution
make a karma of what you have done
goodness will get pleasure

I am affected the most by the oceans of time poem.. I end up myself considering each time I spent.. and I asked myself what if I had oceans of time. Do I really want it? i am not sure.. Because the thing making something precious is its limitations or with another word its mortality.. So the is the thing giving us the inspire to use our time and even lifetime well.. Thanks for poem..

I also like poetry. I read your article well. ^^

I like your poems, beautiful, congratulations!

I know these ( however short) moments and they give a fantastic feeling.
It is difficult to describe but you put it in a striking way.
