Barrels in the dark - A must do in porto: Portwine toursteemCreated with Sketch.

When visiting porto you're just not getting around portwine. It's a really sweet wine with a strong taste and it gets produced in porto in the town. There are dozens of wine producers with big cellars and thousands of barrels inside.

My wife and me were visiting 2 of them and the personal tour of "Croft Port", we really enjoyed.

At the day when we were walking through porto on the way to croft port, it began to rain heavily and we were getting wet. After some minutes we luckily found the place. When entering croft port, they already lighted a fireplace in the entry hall, let us sit on two big comfortable leather chairs next to the fireplace and let us taste a portwine until the next tour starts. That was exactly what we needed after walking around in the rain before.

They show you all the cellars with the barrels inside, tell you about how the different type of portwines are made, you can ask questions, take pictures and in the end you even get a tasting of 3 different portwines.

During the tour I was taking a lot of shots and this one I like the most because the barrels float into the dark. I took this picture with my Nikon D3s and a 24-70mm Nikkor at 24mm/F2.8, ISO1600 with 1/100sec. Postprocessing was done with Nikon Capture NX2.

I really like this shot. It would look great on a wall. A simple abstract feel to it. Upvoted!
