How to take slow shutter pictures! ⚡️

Taking pictures such as these are one of my favorite pictures to take because it is simple and easy to do

What you need:

  1. A decent camera (basically any dslr and even some new GoPros)
  2. A tripod, or something to keep the camera steady (leaving the camera on a table will work too)
  3. A thunderstorm with lightning ⛈
  4. Patience

How to do it:

  1. Place the camera facing tomowards the horizon where the lightning is crashing, without many obstructions and focus the camera to the horizon
  2. Go to your shutter priority setting on your camera and set your shutter speed to anything between roughly 15 and 30 seconds
  3. Press your shutter button and wait 😎
  4. You may have to repeat this a few times

How does it work?

Basically if your shutter speed is set to 15 seconds for example, your shutter will stay open for 15 seconds capturing any light that it sees and basically imprints that onto the picture.

There are many different ideas for slow shutter photography that I will be posting in the future so please stay tuned! And feel free to ask any questions and give an upvote if you think this helped!
