Austin, Texas Bat Colony

in #photography6 years ago

Here is a new mural that has just popped up on one of the pilings of the Ann W. Richards Bridge in Austin, Texas.

Why a bat? Because this bridge is home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. According to Austin, Texas, between 750 Thousand and 1.5 Million bats fly out from under the bridge at dusk between April and October. It is a sight to behold.

A visit to Austin, Texas is well worth your time.
