Dawn to Sunrise - 29 August 2018 (Original Video/Photos)

in #photography6 years ago

The day before was warm and humid. A ground fog was forming overnight. There was a slight breeze in the morning with low clouds moving across the sky. The perfect setup for a nice sunrise. However, there was a little bit of outside condensation on the window I was photographing through. The spots on the window do not show up until towards the end of the photo shoot.

Photographs taken on 29 August 2018.

Sunrise Video

For this photo shoot I focused on the distant horizon then turned off the auto-focus and the image stabilization on my lens. I used a high f-stop to keep both the foreground and background in sharp focus.

The photographs in the video cover a 34 minute time-frame. This video stitches together 141 photos starting 32 minutes before the official sunrise.

Full Video

All the photographs taken have been compiled into a 4 minute 30 second video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you see what I observed.

Music: "The Temperature of the Air on the Bow of the Kaleetan" by Chris Zabriskie. This music was chosen because the musical transitions seemed to match the tone of this sunrise and the number of photos.

Sunrise Photographs in Sequence

Dawn: The period of the day when light begins to appear in the sky from the sun.
Sunrise: The time when you first see the sun in the morning.

To give you an idea of the when the photographs were taken I am adding a T-time. T-0 is sunrise, T-10 is 10 minutes before sunrise, and T+5 is 5 minutes after sunrise.

This is a representative sample of the photographs in the video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you are seeing what I observed on this morning.

Starting to see the spots on the window from the condensation. At first the effect looks neat.

Incredible as the whole horizon turns yellow and orange in a single color, @etcmike. The clouds do not manage to dim so much light together. See this visual spectacle and just thank God. Have a beautiful awakening.

@etcmike, Wow, most of the time I've mentioned about the three layered colours but this time it's more beautiful.

And this time it's reflecting as, we are watching the three different dimensions which are moving and every dimension hold the different colour essence.

And most importantly those bird like foggy clouds are more attractive and in my opinion they are reflecting as Spectator clouds.

And specially the colour like fire which we can see in the sky is more amazing because it hold strong essence.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

superb sunrise photography.. amazing Photo shot you have taken.. as always.. great job @etcmike

As always you are the best ,your photographs perfectly define the nature, life cycle 👍

Just came back to see this post.. @etcmike you have beautifully captured the dawn.. i cannot stop watching it....

Always you show us beautiful sunrises, It's good to see it until human beings destroy everything. I know it sounds pessimistic, but I know it will be like this. Enjoy your sunrises every day. Have a great week :D

Actually the volcanic activity around the world will have more effect on future sunrises than human activity.
The forest fires out West are caused by both human activity (sparks from a flat tire) and lightning. Forest fires out West have occurred ever since there have been forests in the West. There are actually trees that depend on forest fires. One species of pine out West has pine cones that release their seeds as a result of fires. It is nature's way of reforestation after the brush has been cleared.

P.S., I am still waiting for my verification e-mail from WEKU.

Have a great week!
Steem on,
Mike

Interesting, I didn't know about those kinds of pines, I will looking for more information. Nature is really clever, even when there are obstacles, she finds the way to survive.

Good if you come to WEKU. I have the same user, so we will see each other soon there.
Have a good week.
Raquel :D

Yosemite Sequoias Need Fire

The heat opens their seed cones, their seeds are released, the flames clear the earth for their germination. While lesser trees blaze around them, the giant sequoias stand virtually unscathed by the flames. They're remarkably fire resistant.

Fire and wildlife

To release their seeds, the cones of several evergreen trees such as pines, must be exposed to high temperatures to melt their waxy seals. Pine barrens are also home to rare and beautiful plants such as blazing star, wild lupine, and sandplain gerardia (an endangered species) that also need fire to reproduce.

O: O: Thanks for sharing all of this with me, I will research more about it anyway. Have a good day :)
