ETERNALLY disCONNECTED

ETERNALLY disCONNECTED

In the last century, we have created so many means and channels for communication, in a desperate need to connect with each other. Not only did they not bring us closer, but we are more disconnected than ever.

The phone was a great invention and his purpose was to connect remote people. Its purpose was achieved. And with the appearance of the mobile phone, we could communicate from almost any part of the world.

Technology made a huge progress when the internet was born. The free flow of information and communication made many people happy.

To be able to access lots of books, movies, music, news and many more in matter of minutes or seconds it is really an amazing thing. But it came with a price. As the interest in internet grew, so did the desire to make money. Companies and corporation saw an opportunity to promote their products by exploiting people’s weaknesses. The desire for making a profit didn’t stop there.

Social media platforms – means for controlling the masses

Social media platforms were intended to connect and keep us in touch with each other. But soon, they transformed in a place where we wear masks and have no clue who the person in front of us really is. Social media creates an illusion of connectivity.

We scroll mindless for minutes, or even hours looking at people which pretend to be rather something else than they are. We have some twisted values of what should we be and how should we act. So we try to keep up with their standards, covering our body with expensive clothes and jewelry, buying things we don’t really need in order to keep and maintain a look, a false idea of us. Our most important human values are mostly suppressed by people wanting either money or power.

Marketing and advertisements are the means of controlling the masses. They use all kind of mind controlling techniques to keep us hooked up. We are addicted to social media!

Use of artificial intelligence

Social media platforms use artificial intelligence, which is extremely good and fast at recognizing patterns in large amounts of data, something that is not as easy for humans. A part of this is used to find out more about our likes and dislikes in order to make us spend more and more of our time, engaged on social media platforms.

Our body is like a machine and our brain could be easily programed with patterns of thinking. By using mind manipulation techniques and psychological programming methods we are kept under control. In this way our actions, responses and answers will be predictable.

When a friend of mine told me how facebook uses artificial intelligence to make us more addicted to it, I was very surprised. I knew they use all kind of techniques but I never imagined what they are really doing. Every sentence and every word we type in any comment box, even though we do not send it, will be forever in their data base.

They built DeepText, a deep learning-based text understanding engine that can perceive the indented textual content of several thousand posts per second, in more than 20 languages. They say it’s built to improve user’s experience with their products, so people would see more of the desirable content.

Let’s be serious! It is not for our own good! It is specially designed to make us more addicted to their platform, by viewing content in which we would be interested. It has nothing to do with good or selfless intentions. It is only a way of making money and controlling the masses.

Of course some of ideas are not bad intended.I do believe that technology could be and it is in a small percentage use for the better of humanity. Deep learning can play an important role in advancing research in fields as diverse as physics, engineering, biology and medicine. Artificial intelligence is going to bring major shifts in society through developments in medicine, better medical diagnosis, self-driving cars and many more fields.
I believe that Artificial Intelligence could be used for the better of humanity, if we would open our eyes and hearts and realize that making a profit doesn’t bring anyone lasting pleasures.

Deprogramming our brains

But there are ways of deprogramming our minds. Sometimes, awareness itself can be life changing. However, there are other ways in which we could sustain and make sure that we will achieve and experience real changes.

By simplifying daily tasks, our habit patterns help us in many situations. There are also some that are limiting and aren’t doing any favor.

Whether it’s changing behaviors or kicking bad habits, we could unlock our brains by rewiring it. This would not only help us to get rid of society’s imposed patterns of thinking, but also to create new healthy ways of acting, behaving and thinking.

We can monitor our thoughts on a daily basis, by observing and defining what kind of mental pattern it’s involved. Mindfulness is extremely important. By focusing on our current action, our mind will be less involved in judging or perceiving distracting activities.

After we identify our bad thoughts and realizing they do not help us in any way, it will be easier to change them. By recognizing unproductive patterns, which make us angry, worried, depressed or afraid, we will get know ourselves better.

Having recognized the problem for what it is and why it’s occurring, we can replace old behaviors. By doing so, we could come up with positive, alternative responses. The brain chemistry is changing, by creating new patterns and new mindsets.

We could limit or break a destructive pattern and change almost every aspect of ourselves. When we believe that something is possible, we will see more opportunities in front of us. We can create a better system than the previous we were running on.

By knowing ourselves better, self-improvement will come easier. If we wish to grow and develop, we need to be able to accept and to be willing to change aspects of ourselves.

Its widly known, but at the same time ignored, how FB and TW are useful instruments for experimenting and programing different reactions, emotions and most of all, opinion. Without saying all the profits they get with information. Only our spirit and creativity fades!! Thanks for your thoughts!! Greetings!!

Yes, social media is used for brain washing and all kinds of social and psychological experiments; it is sad but true. Thank you for reading! Greetings!! :)

Impressive piece you got here. I believe that these new technologies has its advantage and its flowing but the problem is its disadvantages are flooding. If we try to look at the new generation, they are more expose to these new technologies that they already forgot or even doesn't know how to deal with people personally. They had learned so many things on these social medias and I mean bad things. If parents will not learn to be conservative with their children, it would be too late for them to realize.

Unfortunately, the influence of social media on children isn't a positive one, on anyone really. Just like you said, we don't really know how to behave in social situations. Our interactions are limited and we are constantly checking our phones, using them as shields from any external factors.
Thank you for reading my post and sharing your thoughts!

All things needed moderation and thats what we need.

Yes, that is true!

Amazing article.. I agree fully with what you said.. Companies that have profit as their main goal will use all the technology and means to increase that profit, without any concern for human values and lives.

I am however somewhat optimistic because it seems that more and more people are starting to see right through their falseness. The process is long though.

I am really surprised by the lack of remorse or compassion of these companies towards people and society, in general. I understand it at a logical level, (their greed for money and power) but I cannot comprehend it... Hopefully more awareness will be brought in the public eyes!
