Let's talk about energy.steemCreated with Sketch.

First, let me say a big Thank You to the Steemit community. The welcome I have received was incredible and really unexpected. So again, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You.

Now Let's talk about energy.

So, where do I start —I guess a good place would be what form of energy that I will be talking about. I am not talking about energy as we learned in physics, or at least not kinetic energy anyway. I guess it would be more of a chemistry meaning as in covalent bonding, but still not exactly. The energy that I am talking about is the energy that is within everything but also fills all voids. It is the energy that makes up everything that is, was, or ever will be. I have heard some refer to it as source energy or even universal energy, I like to call it resonant energy. Regardless of the label you slap on it, it is hard to refute that we are all energetic beings, and so are all other forms of life on this planet.

This is a photoshop composition I created that reflects how I visualize the energy
The way I understand it, we each have a unique energy signature, in a manner of speaking. It could be called a vibration or even resonance, this is the signature that makes us who we are. It is comprised of everything we have done, said, seen, eaten, and even thought. So as such, this signature is always changing as we live our lives. I have no evidence or studies to offer up as proof, this is simply my perspective shaped by my experiences and observations throughout my life. This signature I speak of could also be thought of as a waveform, again, an ever changing one though. Sometimes it might feel like a sine wave and other times it might seem more like a square or sawtooth wave.

Again, this is only my perspective and I have no expectations of influencing anyone to adopt my understandings or follow a belief or a belief system. I have a saying that I started using some 20 years ago, "Knowledge is Power, Share It". This is the basis in which I try to live my life. I guess I should also explain my definition of "knowledge" in the context of which I am speaking of it. I see knowledge as a byproduct of "understanding" information that you've attained. Let me add that for me "wisdom" is a byproduct of repeatedly applying said knowledge for a better understanding of it —as with many things, it comes with time and repetition.

Let's get back to the topic of energy. Over the years I have tried to stay as observant as possible to myself, my surroundings and the affects of outside influences on my life, and state of mind. What I have noticed is that when I am in a group of people their energy (state of mind) is one of the strongest influences on my state of mind. The only things that I have found that can influence me more would be hearing of a major tragedy or celebration. Now in terms of influence, let's use the waveform metaphor again, influence as in modifying the "amplitude" of the waveform up or down. So, simply put the "group's energy" can influence me to feel empowered or drained.

I have also noticed in these instances the affects of the "group energy" on others often manifests as emotion. If we look at it as a wave again this would equate to influencing the frequency or wavelength of the wave. Happiness would be a high frequency or short wavelength, with sadness and anger having a lower frequency and longer wavelength. The group energy affects are usually short lived and influence amplitude and frequency only.

Another observation that I have made is that people who meditate or balance their energy through "grounding" tend to be less susceptible to emotional influence by the group. People who practice such techniques are easy to spot as they are the ones remaining calm and trying to keep things orderly. I have also observed people who didn't knowingly or actively practice meditation or grounding, but stayed calm under extreme duress or when in stressful situations. Afterwards while talking with them I would find that they would enjoy taking walks in nature, or maybe walk barefoot outside often, or in some other way connect with nature.

Through observation and my own experience I have come to understand that though energy is everywhere and at times can be very influential, it is ultimately up to each of us to decide how we allow it to affect us. I am not an emotional person at all; therefore, I don’t have drastic mood swings, nor is it easy to ruffle my feathers. I accept things for what they are and as they are. Also, I set no expectations upon others. I have found that having expectations of others tends to lead to disappointment which in turn can cause not only a drop in the amplitude of my energy, but also a drop in frequency. I like to be in control of my happiness too much to allow others to affect me that way.

I have seen a lot of people with a "positive vibes" related mindset over the years. Today, just about everywhere you look someone is wearing a shirt with some sort of message promoting positive vibes. On the surface that is great. The positive message is influencing not only their energy, but others are susceptible to it as well. The question that I often ask myself is, "do they understand the how and why of it all"? I am sure that many do, but to me it seems that there are a lot that do not. I have noticed that those who follow the positive vibes movement but don’t really understand it often have energy signatures that resemble a square wave or a sawtooth wave.

A square wave energy signature will often manifest in the life cycle as a series of great highs and sudden lows, or one minute being on top of the world and the next feeling like life is over. I have often seen people slip into this energy signature and stay there for years. It might manifest as finding a job, working a few months then losing the job, then hunting for a new job for a few months, and the cycle repeats until broken.

Another signature I have noticed would be a sawtooth wave energy signature. People with this signature work hard in life in what always seems to be an uphill battle. This might manifest as promotions year after year at work and buying that dream house, then six months later losing the job. Then finding a new job starting at the bottom and having to work hard to get back up again. The cycle will repeat until broken.

The last energy signature I am going to talk about in this post is the sine wave energy signature. From my perspective this is the most natural signature to have. The transitions from high to low are more fluid than the other signatures. This is most often the signature of someone who is more or less in "control of their energy". My theory is that by being in control of your energy you accept that there will be ups and downs in life. As such, those in control don’t fight the downs, they use them to learn and to get the most out of every situation. There is always a lesson for us to learn. These people know that the up cycle always comes back, and that life is what they make it. They understand that they are in control or better yet, responsible for their own happiness.

I think that is a good stopping point for this post. I have much more that I can share with those who are interested in reading more about my perspective. To be honest, I have no expectations for this post. I do hope that it might spark some intellectual conversations on the topic of energy in this sense. So, who is willing to share their perspective in the comments?

Awsome post. I have also been aware of the impact group energy can have. This can be good or bad. I have an unusual spiritual path and recently a spirit I work with (Ogun) talked about group energy. He pointed out that the powers of fear want us to feel alone. He pointed out that worldwide the energy of peace is not counted in the thousands or even millions, but in Billions. He said no one really wants war, sure some may use it for their own gain but no one really wants it. My point is that group energy can work for the good if individuals come together to promote, Love, Compassion, and Peace.

Thank you, I do agree that the majority of people want peace. The problem as I see it, is that those in the majority have no idea how the use the power they have to obtain peace. We live in a society that is control by mega corporations. These companies control most of the general population. They do it by controlling all the various industries of today. They also lobby the government to get what they what and crush what they don't.

I am an Anarchist, I do not want government or mega corporations controlling my life. I feel that I am more than capable of determining what is best for me and what is not.

You do bring up a great point though, if we can get the masses to turn from the corporate masters and be free independent thinkers then we could put down these rabid dogs we call governments and finally have peace. I think that the trick to doing this is to get people to first truly LOVE THEMSELVES as they are.

Anyway Thanks for sharing, lets keep the discussion going.

I am an anarchist as well. I think that like Ron Paul has often said, Freedom is popular. It is my opinion that as humans move towards a stateless society, as a planet we also naturally will move towards peace. Being intimately familiar with collective goals as used in magickal practice, I have seen this work in a small scale. Once we all voluntarily decide to cast aside the violence of the state we can as individuals evolve.

I agree, years ago I followed a more naturalist/wiccan ideology. I saw many things that opened my eyes to what was really in front of me. I came to realize that what we call civilization is far from civil and the only purpose as it is, is the transfer power and wealth away from the people. But as I see it, We are still trying to get to the one hundredth monkey, if you know what I mean. Once we hit that point then more and more people will wake up exponentially.

Whether that happens before it all comes crashing down is yet to be seen, me I will be happy either way as long as this current system we have ends. Then the people can take back power of their own lives.

Thanks for sharing , please feel free to continue.

As someone who's been playing a lot with my NI Massive Operator lately I am in full appreciation of this metaphysical look at the waveform dynamics of energy...

I've experienced all three of these patterns in my life and it's true that Sine does seem to be the most "going with the flow" of things...

I think Saw and Square waves are the result of resistance and opposition within ourselves. When we allow for life to do as it pleases and trust in its infinite wisdom, we have a much smoother ride.

The highs and lows cannot be done away with as nothing as can grow infinitely without repeating... These are the spiral-dynamics of evolving consciousness. We must always return to a previous point, but with a heightened view-point; then at each intersection and level we have already reached, we are given a new opportunity to put into practice all that we have learned.

Learn to know ourselves and the world becomes a small pearl in the palm of our heads... Free are we to close our fist and behold our rightful and true place in the world.

I'll be oscillating in a smoother fashion from now on... I know already not to sweat any of the small-stuff... We just have to keep unbelievably focused on the prize.

Thanks @myperspective... Following for more future insights! x

Thank you @imp.unity, I too have at one point or another found myself resonating in all three of these patterns. There is also another shape and it is a Triangle. I will touch on it a bit in my next post.

Resisting the inevitable is just plain silly, or futile. There will be ups and there will be downs. With each of them there are lessons to learn. We will repeat the cycle until we learn the lesson that we need to learn. There may even be many lessons to learn in the same cycle, but once we learn them we can be free from what ever burden we have placed on ourselves to force us to learn them.

That is more or less how I see it as well.

Thanks for taking the time to read my perspective, and for sharing yours.

Thank you my brother!

Completely agree <3

I'm already discussing this post, it's so good to see the images and read the description. It really resonate with me. I have some unknown beliefs (unknown to me) that I have no idea how to vocalize and this is one of them. I use to say everyone has a pattern that keeps cycling especially if it goes unnoticed by the individual. Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed this post 😃👍✨

Totally! :D

I too have always felt that we cannot possibly understand the complexity and depth of information contained in these waves; but we can intuit their curves and predictable patterns of repetition

So in a sense, we're not blind... We just need to have that faith and acceptance to be able to ride those waves up and down and not let them throw us about and crash us...

Surf's up! Kawabungaaaa

Thank You for taking the time to read my perspective. I plan on posting a follow up to this in a day or two. I want to talk more about visualization, I see energy in the form of auras. Most everything has one to some degree.

As to the cycles, it amazes me how easy it is to see them in others. Yet when we first look at ourselves often we miss them. With time and repetition we can become better at it. Understanding self-control and self-responsibility were key for me.

Again, Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

"The quickest way to gain anything in life is to take responsibility for achieving it. "

You don't need to refer to any non-physics form of energy and fall into some nonsense gibberish. On the cellular and atomic level it's the energy that is described by science - magnetic and electric fields. There's nothing else. Grounding is having positive effects on health exactly because it makes you suck electrons from the ground.

That is also my opinion on how "Grounding" works, Thank You for sharing.
