Concept No.12 - THE SECRET SPECIAL

FCD9185A-AD00-424C-8025-ABA235B799F5.jpeg

Have you ever wondered why your life turned upside down when you became a teenager and then everything fell apart when you finally became an adult. It all seemed so easy when we were kids. We had no responsibilities, no expectations to fulfill, we always received whatever we wanted and if at times, we didn't receive something, we always had a hope that when we will grow older, we will get whatever we want one way or the other.

But slowly and gradually the time span of good days decreases and bad days increases. We try our best to catch all the falling pieces but they keep on falling apart.

Don't worry. Today you will know WHY !!

Why didn't you grew up to be the most popular person on earth?

Why didn't you become as rich as you believed you would become?

Why didn't God support you when you fell?

Where did that feeling fade away which use to tell that YOU ARE SPECIAL?

Why weren't you able to do something amazing, unique, surprising and successful?

AND HOW CAN YOU STILL CHANGE IT ALL TO WHAT YOU ALWAYS BELIEVED !!!

1. By knowing that you are NOT special.

Now this headline breaks the flow of whatever I was saying, but let's just face it. When we were immature, we believed it from the depths of our heart, that we are someone special, that we were born to do something extraordinary. It is important to be positive and trust ourselves but what we instead do by believing this is that we stop putting efforts. We are over-confident of the fact that good will come to us because we are special, that we would surely be successful because we are special, that obviously everyone would adore us, because we are special and that is what gives birth to the main obstacle. We stop doing anything to BECOME SPECIAL, because we become sure that WE ALREADY ARE.

2. We ignore other special people around us.

We forget that we are not the only ones who are unique and extraordinary. In fact, we believe that we are ABOVE everyone else. We believe that others don't hold that much importance, as much as we do. Whereas the reality is, that everybody else thinks the same thing. They all believe that they are special. This ignorance not just fires up our overconfidence but also separates us from others. The power of unity breaks due to this reason and as an individual we grow weaker. Every time we fall, there is no one to uplift us, because we never believed someone was so worthy to be around us when we feel weak which brings forward our next point.

3. Every time we make an effort, we make it while remaining lonely.

We start putting efforts when we REALIZE that things are not actually happening the way we wanted it. We make up leeway and stay lost in our own struggles and all along, we stay all alone. Because we do not believe anyone else other than us is special, we do not support others and due to the same reason the others do not support us as well. That is why even if we gather some courage and step out to do something extraordinary, others oppose us instead of supporting us. Only if we all understood that we are all special in our own way, we would all work as a team with faith in each other increasing our chances of success to a great extend.

4. Be the tortoise, not the rabbit.

The rabbit believed that he will win no matter what. He believed he was special. Believing in yourself isn't wrong but NOT BELIEVING IN OTHERS is. The same happens with us. Even if we are good at something, we don't make an effort because of this overconfidence.

The tortoise too believed he was special. Why would he enter the race with a rabbit otherwise. But he made an effort. That is how he won. So the simple moral here is to understand that yes we are special, but we need to make others believe the same, and we can make others believe that we are special by proving it to them. Not by just being proud about the uniqueness you own.

5. It isn't over yet !

When this faith on ourselves starts to break, when we start to feel that God is not helping us, when we don't understand why nothing is working out, when we feel all alone in this world, we still never lose hope that we are someone special. Somewhere in our heart, we always trust it, no matter how much wrong we are proven. That is the reason you can begin again anytime and anywhere. All you have to do is change this belief of yours from I am special to I have to BECOME someone special.

Very good quote! Yes hard work is definitely necessary.

very good indeed, i love it.

It's the secret ingredient that so many miss...

This the first I have read any of your posts, and I am impressed. This article is very well written and thought provoking. I like what you wrote about looking at others as special...I have done this in my work, and it has carried over into my everyday life. We are all traveling though this life together...we are each unique, and very special human beings.

In regards to failure...At 65 years old I have had a number of failures throughout my life...a few times I probably gave up, yet I recall observing my father who failed at almost everything until his latter years of his life...The lesson I learned was perseverance...He never gave up, instead he would pick up the pieces and try again. Eventually, for myself I saw the value of failures in life...It provides each of us with the opportunity to look at what has happened and learn something from it and by all means never give up. Learn from the specialism of each person we interact with.

Thank you...I plan on reading through more of your posts.

Woah !!! I am 24 right now. Had no idea life plays with you even when you are 65!! Failures are important, very important !! I made a post about this particular topic as well 7 months back. Blessed are they who failed !!!

Thanks a lot for upvoting, resteeming and leaving such a wonderful comment :)

What I have observed after working in Human Services for 48 years, is that life issues arises at different times for different people. I went though my worst time in my 20's. I was even homeless for awhile living in my pickup truck. For others it hits at mid life or later in life. There are some where it continually is a problem their entire life.

I believe that when things go bad it is because the Universe is trying to tell us something. You need to deal with what ever hits you, because if you do not , life has a way to keep bringing it back until you successfully go through it and no longer avoid it.

I still resist from time to time, although now at my age I wake up to the fact that I have to take a look at whatever is happening and look for a better way. As we come out the other end of whatever is happening it frequently works out better than we could ever hope for.

If we do not fail at something how w will we grow or learn about life?

I trust I am making some sense. It is early in the morning here and I am trying to get this done before heading out.

If you think I have not been visiting your blog, use steemit.chat to open a dialog. I tend to get wrapped up in either my own post of fundraising for charities. I tend to get a lot of replies from posts or resteeming for fundraising...I try and reply to each, and upvote those who re not spamming.

Well written (is it your theory or based on some existing psychological theory? Not much into psychology) but I don't really like the way special people (because yes, there are plenty of those out there) are presented here.
I completely disagree with number 1: Being over-confident and knowing you are special to some extent are -for me- 2 different things.
Because there are people out there that are indeed more special than others and non-special over-confident ones who are nobodies really, the same way there are special people who never stop trying...
Also, referring to number 2+3 now, I think if a person is truly special, then they support other special people. But that's what I've seen - they might be more who don't and they keep everything for themselves, who knows.
I agree with number 4, partially, meaning that...just because the rabbit was an a**hole, it doesn't mean that all qualified, educated, talented, or whatever you call 'special' people are like that. There are people of value that they know how to also recognize value.

And to answer the last question, no - the reason/s of my failure/s so far wasn't that. It was a blend of different reasons and bad timing, I guess. But in Greek we say... 'the wheel will turn' -which basically means that if not now, later, everything is going to be ok :)

Hey meanmommy !! Its my theory, didn't read it anywhere else. Based on my experience only.

I believe everyone is special and nobody is more special then others. It's just that some people put efforts to prove their specialty and some don't even put efforts to find their specialty.

Yes there are both kind of special people, who thinks others are special too, and those who don't think so. But sooner or later, universe makes them realize their mistakes and the truth.

Again, when I was talking about the rabbit, I was talking about those people only who think the are special and that is why do not put any efforts. Thats the whole purpose of writing the post.

Reasons for failure can be many undoubtedly. This is just one of the many reasons as I tried to portray in the post.

And sorry for replying so so so late. I am still trying my best to manage everything.

Thanks for voting and commenting :)

I guess I get your point, but I still believe that not all people are special... ;)
No worries!
