What is the purpose of our existence?

I don't like to think of it that way, that there is an absolute purpose for our existence. Purpose alludes to some big destiny or some awe inspiring something at the closing chapter of life. Sometimes there isn't really one that is extraordinary. It is okay. Besides, existence in itself is already purposeful. What we do with existence is up to us to decide and judge.

This quote from “Three Cornered World”by Natsume Soseki came to mind, "Approach everything rationally, and you become harsh. Pole along the stream of emotions, and you will be swept away by the current. Give free reign to your desires, and you become uncomfortably confined. It is not a very agreeable place to live, this world of ours.” The thing is this world is conceived through our mind. So, when we think of purpose, its natural that there is a polarity that comes with it and a fear of the ambiguous. There is no one answer to ultimate truth, but wouldn’t you say that it is still a beautiful place to live?
