2020 and New Year resolutions

in #new5 years ago

It’s already 2020 in several parts of the world and one thing that never gets old is making new year resolutions.

However, by the second quarter of every year, one thing that never gets old is that most people either forget or abandon these resolutions.

I’ve succeeded in keeping most of the resolutions I made in 2019 by using a very trick - I was both practical and reasonable in deciding on the resolutions!

For example, if you have a very busy life (work, family etc.), you set up yourself to fail if your resolution is to “spend 1 hour in the gym everyday” - very unachievable except you are maybe training for the olympics! However, if you adjust this goal slightly by saying I’ll spend 1 hour in the gym at least 2 times a week, achieving this goal becomes not only doable but actually a little bit motivating.

This is the secret to keeping your resolutions not just for the first few months of 2020 but all year round.

Do you have other secrets you’ve used to keep your resolutions for longer? Please share in the comments.

Happy 2020!
