SuriLee AKA Samhita is an independent singer, songwriter, lyricist, composer, producer in Pop and R&B genres. Suri comes from Mumbai, India. Her passion for singing started in early childhood, when Bollywood songs mesmerized her. Suri eventually ended up attending the University of Baltimore where she studied accounting and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 2006, as well as a Master’s Degree in 2011. Though she worked and had children afterwards, her dream of becoming a singer never died and led to the release of her debut album “Wild Lily”, recorded at Shine On Studios in Oakland, CA, and produced by David Hughes.

Off of the aforementioned album, comes SuriLee’s latest single, “Don’t Know”. The song is authentically original, rooted in tender melody, heartfelt lyrics, and full on emotion. Woven throughout “Don’t Know” is the theme that happiness and pain are inherently connected, but that the recognition of both allows for acceptance.

Fusing deep, dreamy, world-style synth melodies with a minimal electro-rhythm and SuriLee’s classically-trained—yet crossover—vocals make this an original and intriguing debut for the up and coming singer. Lyrically minimalist, the young artist’s search for identity is accessible and told with tasteful mystery…
