WHO IS A DOER AND WHO IS A DREAMER??

in #motivation7 years ago

So, who is a doer? The answer is practically simple. Someone who does, takes action and makes life happen. In today’s age it’s easier than ever to live on the sidelines. We can live through the photos of others with the rise of social media like Facebook, snap chat and Instagram; shape-shifting at will so we can also feel alive.

We can take a dive with the tides in the ocean, or walk on the great wall of China all at the same time. We can go to a concert, or go to the engagement of a loved one without leaving our beds.
Now as great as tech may be, it fosters a culture of people that are content with experiencing the world without ever taking action They are content with living through the lives of others.
There are basically two kinds of people in this world. These are the Doers and the dreamers.
Doers are willing to act in this world and make life happen.
So, what does a doer or a dreamer look like? Well, let’s see this in the lives of three interesting people.
Gyda finished top of her class after graduating from college. She got a job at a big company and did audit accounting, then she got to work with the top companies like google and Facebook daily. She’s done most of the incredible things and meets the most amazing people out there. In the outside of the corporate world, she is passionate about human right issues and human trafficking. She also often has ideas that, she can take her passion and make a difference. She feels she can can raise money or awareness for these causes.
It’s amazing how all these abilities could be harnessed to create and make the world a better place but despite all these great and awesome qualities, she’s just a dreamer.

Another guy called Gilbert schooled in a university in Africa and unfortunately wasn’t really taught well. He felt his knowledge was limited and, so he grieved and lamented every time the subject came up. During those times in college, Gilbert knew that he had to study on his own. He also knew how French and chemistry was relevant to his engineering program, but he never took the pain to study them. He only desired them through what people would call wishful thinking.
Alex’ character is a sharp contrast to that of Gilbert and Gyda. A direct opposite of the two. He’s entering his sixth year in college still pursuing an undergrad degree, lives at home with his parents and has been fired from 7 jobs already. Alex has something going for him that others don’t. You see, Alex Is the epitome of a doer. He takes action about the things that are more important to him and he makes things happen. From raising funds for charity to doing things closer to his heart and things he’s more passionate about. He motivates people to join him in his cause. In high school, Alex started his own media agency where he interviewed some of his favorite bands. He posted music news and had hundreds of dollars because his site generated so much traffic that advertisers paid to advertise their products there. He called any of his favorite bands just to chat with them in his free time. He’s this kind who isn’t afraid of taking action. He believes in what he stands for and has no problem putting himself out there and not failing.
First trait that all doers possess is that they are confident in themselves and in the decisions, that they make.
They don’t second guess themselves and also, they believe in what they stand for and what they do.
Its estimated that the average American makes about 35000 decisions a day. These range from the sound of the alarm to the styling of their hair to the big things like, how to invest time and money. However, there is no way one will be correct in all decisions but a doer recognizes that. Since he/she isn’t afraid of risks, the doer ceases the opportunity and makes bold decisions dreamers wouldn't make at all.
Consider this as a simple exercise;
When a menu is given to someone to make an order, the person flips through over and over not knowing what to decide. Now I will urge you to do this simple exercise. When given a menu any time you visit the restaurant, limit yourself to just two options and pick one. It’s a risk in a sense that, you might not get to eat what you really craved or wanted, or you might even have to eat again at home. The good thing here is that, it makes you confident and firm in your decisions so when it comes to those big decisions like when and where to invest your money or what to do with something very important in your life, you become more confident in yourself because these kinds of things build on each other. You can then take that risk and move on with your life.
Doers are never afraid.

They never fear to ask:
The fastest way to get to the result you want is to make it known or be upfront with someone and just ask them.

Unfortunately, so many people are afraid to do that. Whether for fear of failure or fear of talking to strangers. People will never know unless you ask them. Another important thing about asking is that people can really open to you. A similar situation happened to me on telegram some few days ago. I was on this channel concerning a crypto currency group yet to have an initial coin offer. I was interested at first but after a while in the group, someone started asking some questions that admins failed to answer. Then he began to say “I smell scum”. I am terribly inexperienced , so I decided to send him a private message. He replied politely. Honestly, he has predicted the behavior of BTC twice so far for me which surprisingly came through. He has also demonstrated thorough knowledge about the market so much so that I’m overwhelmed. He continues to teach me, mostly about the dangers involved and how to truly study them.

You see, he did this easily and kindly. He was nice. If I had not taken the initiative to chat with him privately, would I have ever known? Answer is NO!
It’s not the end of the world if you made a mistake. It might hurt for a second, but you’ll get over it.
Doers do not only believe in themselves or are confident in themselves alone, but they actually go and do.
I believe now that we all have some form of passion and therefore want to make some change in our spheres of life.
Be passionate about everything you do and just grab the opportunity.
Whenever the time is right, and your whole self bears witness to it that you should start something, just do it because the world looks brighter when we see it with our minds.
I hope we understand now...shout out to all readers. 😉
