If I understood you correctly...

Being broke - Easy as 1-2-3
1- Just basically spend more than what you are earning
2- Don't plan your financial spending activities
3- Be stupid about money

Not Being broke - Easy as 1-2-3
1- Just basically spend LESS than what you are earning
2- PLAN your financial spending activities
3- Be SMART about money
