Its has been 7 year ago, I graduated from Andalas university . My study is listerature and linguistic which is focus on Sociolinguistics. I loved sociolinguistics. In this study we can learns about languages and society. In general, this study is aimed to describe the phenomenon of languages in social interaction. Every group of societies, they have a characteristic on using their language. so, I interested with this phenomenon. one of this phenomenon is a code mixing.

Code mixing is a branch of sociolinguistics. It is branch of linguistics that studies variation of language based on relationship in a society. Code mixing usually appears in bilingual and/or multilingual society. Bilingualism is ability of the speaker to use two languages (Bloomfield in Chaer and Agustina 1995). The ability of speaking in two languages makes code mixing occurs when bilingual society mixed word(s), phrase(s), and clause(s) together from one language to another in one sentence.

Hundred of million people all over the world routinely use two or more languages in their daily lives (multilingual). in fact, so many peoples who speak in two or more languages mixing their languages in one utterance such as English, Spanish, India, french and many other language.

The fact that people can use more than one language encourages them to mix code whenever they speak. In multilingual community, speaker tends to mix from one language to the other, which is commonly called as code mixing. According to Suwito (2004: 60) “Code mixing is the use of two or more languages by entering the pieces of one language to another while the pieces of a language which are inserts, it do not have their function”. While Trudgil (1992: 16) defines “Code mixing is the process whereby speakers indulge in code switching between languages, even within sentences and phrases that are not possible to say at any given time which language they are speaking”.

Code mixing can be seen in spoken and written language. Code mixing in the form of written language can be found in texts such as: newspaper, magazine, novel, article and movie script. Code mixing uses two languages which are spoken in one utterance especially in bilingual people. Now’s day, there are many people use one language which is mixed with another one, not only to speak but also to use it in various media. awesome..!

At the end, after I finished this study. I haven't got any job related with this studies. Know I work in manufacturing as Quality Management Representative. My big mistake is stop search a job about linguistic. but with this platform I can shared about literature, linguistics and the other. maybe my background studies can be useful for others
for next step, I will wrote a short fiction stories. and share with all of you guys. then we can discuss together.
