TOP 5 Self-Help Books YOU HAVE TO READ! (SUCCESS THROUGH PSYCHOLOGY)

in #life7 years ago

Yo Steemians!

Self-Help books are not a replacement for real world problems and are certainly not a permanent solution for mental illness. It's important to recognise however that understanding how your mind functions and hacking your psychology makes it possible to better deal with day to day problems and overcome any difficulties that you may have been facing in your life.

WHAT IN PARTICULAR??

Your MINDSET. It's important to understand that at the center of who you are and how your deal with a problem is your mindset. If you manage to develop the right mindset, a healthy mindset, an empowered mindset, then you put yourself in a position to persevere and achieve.

I highly recommend these self-help books that just by reading can truly make you think positively, empower you with the ability to come up with strategies, feel confident and reflect on your growth. Combine these with a healthy desire to grow and reading becomes fun, leaving you feeling amazing about yourself and your new improved state. Try not to procrastinate getting these, because you would have wished that you had read them sooner! I assure you, the cost surely outweighs the benefits.

Just going through these can effect immediate and positive growth in you!

Here are the books in no particular order:

1. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change

By Stephen R. Covey

A habit (or wont) is a routine of behavior that is repeated regularly and tends to occur subconsciously. To be successful, is to have habits that boost productivity. It's as simple as it sounds. Covey's 7 habits are famous because they work.

Habit 1: Be Proactive.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind.
Habit 3: Put First Things First.
Habit 4: Think Win/Win.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood.
Habit 6: Synergize.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw.

The book follows these 7 principles as a means to solving personal and professional problems.

2. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life

By Mark Manson

Manson doesn't sugar-coat and that is just his style of conveying information. He’s crude, vulgar and doesn’t give a f*ck, but is still, highly effective in delivery and knowledge. He believes that Human beings are flawed and limited—“not everybody can be extraordinary, there are winners and losers in society and some of it is not fair or your fault.”

If we embrace our fears, faults and uncertainties, if we stop running away and avoiding things, start confronting painful truths, we can begin to find the courage, perseverance, honesty, responsibility, curiosity and forgiveness we seek, ultimately finding that what lies within to lead a great life!

3. The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

By Charles Duhigg

Duhigg believes success lies in one's ability to transform their habits. Duhigg takes us to the thrilling edge of scientific discoveries that explain why habits exist and how they can be changed. He does this by teaching us to access our inner potential to achieve transformation.

By learning positive habits, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives.

4. You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life

By Jen Sincero

This book identifies and aids in changing bad behaviors that are keeping you from living the life you want. This is one book I would recommend you start off with reading first because of it's focus on psychology, more precisely, how to create behaviors that will allow you to create a life that you love and do it by focusing on the HERE and NOW. (P.S- It may just help you make some money ;)

The book has hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and much more! This is one self-improvement book if there ever was one!

5. 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos

By Jordan B. Peterson

Looking for some wittily detailed stories, with witty endings and lessons?

12 Rules for life brings out the author's wisdom in a humorous, surprising and informative way, discussing discipline, freedom, adventure and responsibility and distilling the world’s wisdom into 12 practical and profound rules for life.

This is one practical book that I definitely recommend.

Developing such a level of insight certainly take a few years, but one thing that speeds up this self development process is education. The more you educate yourself, about yourself, the faster you grow as a person and move one step closer to creating that ideal mindset that will make you the best version of yourself!
