Let's talk about #5: Being grateful

in #life7 years ago

this week i got inspired by a special quote from howard w. hunter:

try not to let what you don't have blind you to that which you do have.

it really got me thinking because i am a person that always thinks about the future. i make plans i want to achieve, i imagine the things i am going to have, experiences i am going to experience... etc. as you can see i am a dreamer. i don't think it's a bad thing, but in a certain way it keeps me from living in the present. appreciating what you currently have, what you are going through is so important to process your emotions and to get to know your inner self. it's also very demotivating if you don't reach the goals you set years ago.

you constantly think about what you don't have instead of appreciating the things you have now. instead of thinking about having kids some day, for example, i could enjoy married life without kids. appreciating the time we have for ourselves. in a few years i am probably going to miss the time we had when it was just the two of us.

let's try to live in the present and value the things we have instead of thinking about the things we don't have or own. you don't know what the future holds, so let's be grateful and not to harsh on ourselves.

have a nice day!
