We bought a house. An old Colonial, it wasn't my choice, but the kitchen and bathrooms were renovated. Who can say no to granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The home even had a plaque, built in 1880.

We laughed as we unpacked our years. We laughed as we unpacked our art. Our children squealed, running with feet smacking those strong, shiny wood floors.

Peter went to work, 3 days in, and I want to make this house mine. I hear a scream. Like any mother, I waited for the crying...a bang and another. My daughter came slipping down the stairs, her step-sister at her heels.
