Life Is Full of Twists. // Lookin' Up

in #life4 days ago

Lookin' Up is a series of photos I've been working on since 2019, and its concept isn't complex at all, nor that much original, but I love taking photos upwards for as long as I can remember; and that's the main thing between all of them: they're pointing up, in a normal vector to the ground.

The theme really got a different poetic meaning when the events of 2020 happened, and it got really difficult to look up to the future. Some of the photos of that time really stick out in my memory, with a mixed filter of nostalgia and trauma.

I used to fantasize about making a series, numbering the photos in some order and classifying them, but I've come to accept that life is made of chaos (specially during and after struggling times). I already posted one of them with the theme-name and the date of the picture taken a few days ago, and you can check it out here. I've shared photos from my Lookin' Up folder for some time already, but just now I wanted to really put this (personal) honouring classification. I hope you appreciate it :)

Life is full of twists.

Avenida Paulista is one of the most iconic landscapes in São Paulo, Brasil. The building that appears on the photo is property of the Santa Catarina Hospital, and it is indeed a very unique and impressive view. I first noticed it when I started to walk around the famous avenue, more than eight years ago, when life was a lot easier and time a lot more diluted. But, of course, I didn't think it was that easy throughout that part of my life; it actually wasn't easy at all, but that's another story.

I wonder how I truly perceived this building the first time it touched me, back in 2016. As they say, it's never the same man nor the same river.

Since I am not they, whoever they are, I'd say it's never the same Arthur nor the same building.

I've posted a sister photo taken in a cloudy day with the same title some 8 months ago, that helps to illustrate how, indeed, things change.
