hilda and kaalu

Story of a proud hen named Hilda and a clever crow named Kaalu. Hilda was known for her bright feathers and her ability to lay the most perfect eggs. Kaalu, on the other hand, was known for his sharp mind and his knack for finding food in the most unexpected places.

One day, the villagers threw a feast and left behind plenty of scraps in the field. Hilda, with her head held high, strutted to the field, excited to pick the best grains and leftovers. But to her surprise, when she arrived, Kaalu was already there, pecking away at the tastiest morsels.

Hilda, puffing up her chest, clucked, "Kaalu! You always get here before me. How do you do it? You don't even walk on the ground as much as I do."

Kaalu smiled and replied, "It's not about how much you walk, Hilda. It’s about being observant and thinking ahead. I watch the villagers and listen to their plans. When I hear them talk about a feast, I know there will be food left behind, so I arrive early."

Hilda frowned. "But that's not fair! I work hard, and yet you seem to get the reward."

Kaalu nodded thoughtfully. "You do work hard, Hilda, but sometimes, thinking smart is just as important as working hard. Why don’t we work together? You have sharp eyes for finding the best grains, and I have the wit to get us there first."

Hilda considered the offer and agreed. From that day on, the crow and the hen formed an unlikely partnership. Kaalu would scout for opportunities, and Hilda would use her keen senses to find the best food. Together, they always had plenty to eat.

The villagers often laughed at the sight of the crow and the hen foraging together, but they also admired their teamwork. The story of Kaalu and Hilda became a lesson for all the animals in the village: sometimes, combining strengths and wisdom brings better results than working alone.
