WOX TRAVEL CONTEST | WEEK 7 | Murano - An Unforgettable Journey

Today I want to share with you my trip to Murano, the precious island in the lagoon of Venice. It's a place where history meets modernity, tradition meets innovation, and art thrives in every shape and size. As someone who appreciates both natural beauty and human creations, I was deeply moved by my visit to this fascinating city. From the moment I set foot on the pretty sidewalks, I was captivated by the harmonious blend of architecture, culture and nature that characterizes Murano.

Just then, I heard the bell of San Michele Church, a towering masterpiece surrounded by calm water, ring. The cubes towered in front of me, creating a beautiful sight that I was able to capture with my phone. But what really distinguishes the church of San Michele is its relationship with water – a gentle whisper of love and respect for life that it gives to the inhabitants of Murano.

The city's waterways pulse with life, seething with energy and activity. Gondolas, operated by experienced gondoliers in traditional attire, glide effortlessly along the winding roads, carrying passengers and cargo. Motorboats and boats complete this symphony of water, adding a modern touch to the age-old tradition of sailing on the canals. Each vessel carries its own story, each trip is a unique adventure, making a boat trip in Murano an unforgettable experience.

Murano's architecture is as fascinating as its water infrastructure. The bright, vibrant colors of the buildings reflect each other, creating a kaleidoscope of visual delights that delight the eye and uplift the spirit. Each structure tells a story, reflecting the city's rich cultural history. The cute cafes and pizzerias nestled between these colorful buildings offer the perfect place to relax and enjoy delicious local dishes. Appetizing aromas of freshly brewed espresso and homemade pizzas waft through the air, tempting even the most skeptical stomachs to give in to the temptation :)

But perhaps Murano's most notable feature is its beautiful gardens. Most houses here are decorated with lush green areas filled with exotic flowers and plants. These colorful oases symbolize the love of Murano residents for nature and aesthetics. A stroll through these gardens offers a moment of tranquility, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty of this extraordinary place.

My visit to Murano was a real revelation. It is a city where past and present coexist, where tradition and innovation intertwine and art flourishes in every shape and size. Whether you are captivated by the rich history of the San Michele church, mesmerized by the movements of the gondolas on the canals, or captivated by the vibrant colors of the buildings, Murano has something to offer every visitor. For me, it was magic that left an imprint on my heart and made me yearn for more adventures in this charming city :)
