☝🏻 Promoting Steem through a Youtube Channel + Other Social Media Platforms ☝🏻steemCreated with Sketch.

Hello there, I've had this idea for a while, to create a Youtube channel on a niche (don't know which for sure, I have a couple in mind and one that I think I will pick), gonna explain about it in the lines below.

The main idea is to have a channel where in every video there is a link pinned in the top comment that takes you to the written blog post of the subject covered in the video. And the post has a section (probably in the intro) about Steemit/Steem, how to join, what can you do and so on.

Now the title "Promoting Steem through a Youtube Channel + Other Social Media Platforms" is kind of misleading, not sure how to formulate it and make it understandable. This thing works both ways or at least in my vision.

  • first, as the number of videos increases and the number of followers/views grows, more people are going to check the pinned link and an even smaller percentage will join the platform

  • as the number mentioned above grows, my blog here on steemit grows, I get more followers and in the end more votes that support my work (also who knows, maybe we can even create a small voting trail)

  • also having different posts on different subjects that might be indexed by a search engine might bring some people on the platform in the end

Also the content with the pinned link will be posted on multiple platforms, Youtube being the main but I will also upload it on Instagram, TikTok, X maybe even Reddit, the content once created can easily be slightly changed to fit other platforms. Not sure if the Steem blockchain has a video platform, I need to check that, if you know please let me know.

Now for the niche part, I am thinking it could either be a tutorial channel with the written guide posted here on the blockchain, text + image, when people search for an issue on Google the Steemit result might pop up. The tutorials should be short, on point, and easy to follow.

The second idea is to have a story channel on different interesting subjects, used with some AI Generator to catch the viewers eye, this could be a great format for short videos. I already have a subscription to Mage AI where there are hundreds of AI models for image generation that with the subscription allow you to use the generated image free for commercial use.

Examples:

  • The story of Simo Häyhä, the sniper that took down over 500 hundred enemies during cold war

  • How CIA used Pigeons with cameras to take aerial photographs of Soviet Sites

  • Haunting photos from history and the story behind them

I will put them all in a spreadsheet and checkmark the ones created probably.

Example of image generated with AI, the prompt could be refined, this was just a quick 5seconds generation

I incline to go with the second option because the short format is the one with the higher success rate nowadays, people "eat" short format content everyday. Also with the AI I could go for Animated/Anime/Cartoon type of images that could be something different on the market and less used.

If I start this project I would like to create a contest with a small prize first, where the participants should describe Steemit and what can you achieve here in a short description, something that should attract the reader, or maybe a small Q&A with the questions a new user could ask himself.

Now if you got to this part of the post can you post please leave your opinion down below, how does this idea sound? Any tips on what could be added, changed or improved.

In the following days I will try to sketch this idea further, maybe even look for a channel name description, subjects and so on.

I know this is just a big block of text, tried to keep it short and concise. Waiting for your comments 😃.
Have a nice day!

I don't exactly understand what will be in the video? SEO will bring audience to the video but then what? Steem's speciality is text and we don't have any decentralized video platform. There was Dtube but it doesn't work on Steem now. I don't think AI generated videos will get much traction unless they are 100% relevent to the context of the post whose link will be shared in the comments.

As for niche, I think tutorials are a good idea. How about sharing these lectures of new teaching teams introduced by steemit team? I haven't checked any lecture so I don't know if they are any good but can't think of anything better at the moment.

Your idea of promoting Steemit through a YouTube channel is good, but my question is, what will you say to invite people, that it's a reward platform? If that's the case, I've already tried it.

I made some videos about Steemit, but maybe because they were in 'Urdu', my native language, they didn't reach a large audience, and therefore didn't get much response.

I have a suggestion, if you want to promote Steemit on YouTube, first make a video that fully explains about Steemit and steem ecosystem, so you'll get an idea of the response and interest from the audience.

I wish you success in your effort to promote Steemit and growth of your channel, and I send you my good wishes.
