Namaste Steem Family,

Note: I am an optimistic person, and I believe that working little by little towards making Steem the best blockchain can make a tremendous amount of difference, and I believe that Steem will rise to a greater position on the coinmarketcap list as time goes by. What I am going to share in this post does not apply to all writers and the general mass of people, but only to a select group of writers that still need to learn a lot more than they know now. There are cases where higher authority authors who have been trusted with the task of working for the betterment of the Steem blockchain, actively work against its development by spreading misinformation and causing hatred towards the system that is in place.

Having said that, let's get to the main information that I want to share with all of you.

Problem Statement:

  1. Despite the fact that we have onboarded a lot of new users, we still face the problem of low-quality content on Steemit.
  2. A lot of people get bored only after a few days or months of posting on Steemit, and they quit posting altogether.
  3. There is still a significant number of those who continue to post content on Steemit but are trying to milk rewards from the platform without ever giving anything back to the platform.

The problem in detail:

In my experience, average Steemit users who have the knowledge to get started on their journey on this beautiful platform are still lacking when it comes to the quality of the content they post on Steemit. Even though we have a good process in place for onboarding new users, they do not seem to be understanding the real meaning of providing quality to the platform they have been given.

We have also discovered during the curation process that many posts have been created by authors with a good reputation, yet the quality of the posts put forth by these authors doesn't fit the mark of good quality content.

There are several reasons why I think their quality is bad; the most significant one is that a high percentage of users who post in the English language do not use correct grammar or have many spelling mistakes in their posts.

This is not to say that we all who curate these posts are the best at writing good posts, but I think it's important to emphasize the fact that most authors don't write their posts consciously, without using the right tools and methodology to create better posts and then they start asking for support as a result.

In the majority of cases, users will be able to improve the quality of their posts simply by using some tools. For example, most users who write in English can use Grammarly to find and correct any mistakes in their writing before posting.

Now, the readers of this post might be thinking, why am I talking about the quality of the content being posted on Steem, and why not talk about the community we are trying to build? What we are trying to achieve through this community is kind of really close to what this problem talks about, so I wanted to put forward the problem first and then talk about the solution we want to work on through this community.

In short, we do not want people to post trash on Steem and then ask for support.

Solution:

To solve the problems mentioned above, we want to assemble a team of eligible* tutorial content (similar to Steemit Crypto Academy) posters that will be used to guide new and existing users.

*(Eligibility here means that the authors must have a history of making tutorials or making good posts that others can learn from.)

We have prepared an exhaustive list of niche areas we would like to guide users in, and when this is done using tutorials, people know what they can post. The main areas that we want to focus on, demand experience from the tutorial content producers. So we would also be inviting applications from all the people who are interested in producing such tutorials. The authors who want to join us in this community as a tutorial content producer can simply put a comment under this post, and we will look at their profile.

The list of niche areas is listed below and each of these niche areas has its respective sub-niche areas that a tutor can focus on.

  1. Development (Software/Computing)
  2. Personal Development
  3. Business
  4. Finance & Accounting
  5. Cryptocurrency & Blockchain
  6. Marketing

The launch of this platform represents the beginning of an unprecedented era for learning on Steemit. As a member of SAGE Academy, authors will be able to gain many different skills, which will allow authors to grow both in terms of their skills as individuals and as Steemit contributors.

We are currently working on onboarding as many high-quality authors, professionals, and representatives as we can to be able to teach new as well as existing members. The SAGE Academy has already asked several team members of team #sevengers to join, and many of them have already assumed their posts in SAGE Academy. The members of the community are going to be teaching different courses that they themselves have an excellent command of, to all the members of the community who wish to learn about these topics.

Now, let us talk about why we need another community that teaches people and aren’t there other communities just like these? Fair question, and I would like to answer this question by using a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt. This is one of the quotes that are very close to my heart and I use this quote quite a lot in my life to prioritize people, events and possibilities in my life.

The quote is:

"Great minds discuss ideas.
Average minds discuss events.
Small minds discuss people."

Note: Clearly, this quote is meant as a generalization rather than a statement.

We use events and people as contexts for discussing ideas in order to provide a context for the discussion. There are so many inspiring people we can look up to and learn from when it comes to changing the world for the better, such as Elon Musk, Ratan Tata, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Buddha, Bill Gates, etc. In any discussion of people, we are attempting to gain a better understanding of the other person.

It is my opinion that discussing current events strengthens our awareness and that discussing current affairs is one of the most effective methods of learning about the world in which we live. The stories that I share with my friends about recent events in my life that have made a difference in my life are a significant part of the conversation we have with each other.

If we regard people or events as means to an end, then they become problematic. In this quote, it is clear what this quote is trying to convey to us: talking bad about others, gossiping, or reacting to news is never going to achieve anything positive. By constantly complaining or chiming in about people and events, we will never become smarter or change our lives for the better.

I do believe that focusing on ideas for change, regardless of how small, will make a huge difference. This is, of course, unless we do something about them in the future.

Thus one can conclude that with the use of this quote, we can change the course of the Steem blockchain in a positive direction. We do not need to stop sharing posts about people, ourselves, and other events, but we do need to increase the number of posts that talk about new ideas and the number of posts that talk about the betterment of the Steem blockchain.

It is our intention to focus our community's efforts on teaching the people and giving them the knowledge that can help them realize their potential and what they can do after achieving certain skills. The purpose of this attempt is to empower all Steemians and strengthen our community by guiding new members who will join us in the near future.

If we empower our people, we as a family will become empowered and more possibilities will open up to us as a result. As for the support I would like to receive, I am hoping that all the big names on the Steemit platform would support this. I also hope that it will be seen as an urgent implementation that needs support from the people who hold authority positions in any community.

We also hope that we will get support of big curators like @steemcurator01, @rme, @steemchiller, @xpilar, @shitcoiner, @gunthertopp, @stephenkendal, @greenman, and community curators who curate content in the categories mentioned above.
