AI overtaking Steemit is really, really bad. Please stop that before it is too late.
In the last couple of days, on the chain there are several accounts spreading AI generated comments. Some on a mass scale.
In my opinion, in the long run, or maybe not that long, this will kill the social side as people who value their time and want real human interaction and real human content, will be repulsed or I'd say alienated from STEEM.
Answer this question: why would a new person join a social network where the most of the content is generated by AI when they could just open their browser and generate a content that is more suited, relevant and interesting to them, in just few seconds? Of course, they would not. We all are interested in original and high quality stuff.
When those alienated people leave they will, of course, take their STEEM away with them and probably sell it in bulk.
Do we want this blockchain to end as an echo chamber room where several AIs chat to each other?
Please reflect on that and try to see the bigger picture!
Now, just to brighten things up a bit and purely for entertainment purposes, I asked an AI to tell why AI overtaking a social media is very bad:
- Privacy Peeping Toms: AI could turn into the nosy neighbor who knows a bit too much about everyone, leading to privacy concerns that make Big Brother seem like a rookie.
- Bias Bonanza: Just when you thought your feed was diverse, AI's algorithmic biases could turn it into an echo chamber where the only opinion you hear is your own... echoed back.
- Misinformation Mayhem: AI might accidentally prioritize the "most engaging" content, which could be code for "most outrageous conspiracy theory" or "latest alien sighting report".
- Job Juggernaut: As AI streamlines tasks like content moderation, it could also streamline some folks right out of their jobs, leading to a not-so-fun game of musical chairs in the employment sector.
- Echo Chamber Orchestra: AI could conduct a symphony of sameness, amplifying similar views until your feed feels like it's stuck on repeat, playing the same tune over and over.
- Deepfake Drama: With AI's talent for creating realistic images and videos, your next viral video could feature you singing a duet with Elvis... except, you never left the building.

The problem is big. And I'm afraid it gets even bigger seeing people of repute even try to defend and justify it.
I personally have no words. I am at a loss for words to express the fear I have felt over the past two days. My favorite social network flooded with AI. And this AI pretending to be a concerned person who carefully read your post, thought through all its aspects and gave the correct and most detailed comment, which a normal person could hardly do. This is terrifying. Then people are flattered by the attention, happily answering in detail, as if talking to a live person. It's like constantly knocking on a door with no one behind it.
We will perish ourselves. It is only in our hands - the power to do it, and we will do it ourselves, consciously.
That's it. I am truly at a loss for words. That ⬆️ is the most important thing that can be said and pondered over.
Correct. The problem isn't big, it is huge.
Let's see if this is the beginning or the end, or the end of the beginning.
That's unfortunate. I hope for more human, more art and less machine on this network.
