I am sure most of you wonder why my username is dove11 on Steemit. Let me tell you in detail about how I adopted it while choosing it.

Do you remember that people used to go to circuses to watch different animals, which is now banned because most countries have banned cruelty to animals? The circus owners have been banned from showing animals in their shows, which has lost the charm of circus-going people, and circuses do not exist anymore.

What I am going to tell you is an old story when there was no PETA and selling birds in cages was common.

What's PETA?
PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is an NGO that works to end animal abuse and promote animal rights that work against Animal abuse also rescues animals. It has a long list that works for animal safety. (You can find it on the internet.)

So when I was walking in a crowded area, I saw several bird sellers selling different birds, bunnies, and puppies on the roadside. There were at least 10 sellers on that footpath with hundreds of cages.

What attracted me most was the parrot and pigeons, and I stopped there and kept watching them for a long time. Then I moved forward and saw a cage in the next seller's collection, as it was entirely different. I saw some white doves that looked different from other birds.

Incidentally, doves are considered the bird of peace, and we release them on special occasions. I checked that cage and counted the white pigeons in that cage. There were 11 of them in that cage. I felt bad that a peaceful bird like a dove was there for sale.

I asked the shopkeeper about their price. He told me this species of pigeons was rare, so he sold them for Rs 150 each. Finally, I settled the deal for INR 1100 for all of them, which is equivalent to US$ 13 or 65 Steem at today's rate.

I bought those 11 doves and carried them out of the city and opened the cage. I was surprised to see that the doves did not fly immediately but sat there for a few minutes before one of them walked out of the cage. Then all of them walked out of the cage behind him.

They still did not fly, so I made some effort, but finally, they flew one after the other and soon dispersed from my sight. That incident was on my mind, and I always thought about those 11 doves. Probably that was on my mind, so when I had to choose a user name, I selected it as dove11.
