Before I proceed I would like to thank @edgargonzalez, specially for this amazing contest about "crop and animal photography !" Good photography is among the things that make a blog so unique, and I would love to make my blog attractive and unique by sharing high-quality photographs with amazing captions.

In this dynamic I'm writing about my prestigious country "Nigeria" the giant of Africa, Nigeria is a West African country with 70% of households engaged in crop farming talking about crops here are the major crops farmed in Nigeria;

  • Cassava
  • Yam
  • Maize
  • groundnut
  • Guinea corn etc.

Nigerians are into so many types of farming that have enough money and contribute to the country's economic accounting, Nigeria is a notable hub for producing and utilizing livestock, Nigeria is a country where 60% are into agriculture with 25% of livestock in the sub-region.

Livestock

Livestock production is a crucial component of Nigeria's agricultural sector, Nigeria has one of the largest livestock populations in West Africa.

According to my research

  • Population: Nigeria has an estimated 175 million poultry birds, 33.8 million sheep, 25.4 million goats, 16.4 million cattle, and 7.5 million pigs.

  • Meat production: Livestock provides a significant source of protein for Nigerians, with meat production increasing by 8% between 2020 and 2021.
