At the beginning of the match, the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah's great bowling upset the opening batsmen of Bangladesh. Sadman Islam scored only 2 runs and was bowled by Bumrah. After that, Zakir Hasan and Shanto put up some resistance but they collapsed in front of Akash Deep's inswinging ball.

In the batting lineup of Bangladesh Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan tried to resist but in the end, could not play a big innings. Liton 22 and Shakib 32 runs. The team could not score more than 149 runs as the other batsmen returned quickly.

Among the Indian bowlers, Bumrah took 4 wickets and Akash Deep, Jadeja, and Siraj took 2 wickets each.

After Bangladesh's innings ended, India got a chance to bat again, but they did not force Bangladesh to follow on. India batted in their second innings to extend their lead. It was a difficult moment for Bangladesh's bowlers, as several of their batsmen returned quickly and expectations of a big innings were not fulfilled.

Mehdi Hasan Miraj showed some consistency, but the rest of the batsmen could not give him the support he deserved. Bangladesh were all out for 149 runs as the last batsmen of the team got out quickly. Mirage scored 27 runs not out.

Bangladesh needed to build resistance against India in the Chennai Test, but the batsmen failed to do so. Now the team will try to return to this Test by showing good performance in the second innings.
