WHAT IS A HOSPITAL

Hospital is a building where trained medical personnel are working, making sure that they provide adequate care and treatment to sick people. We have a private and a public hospital. These two differs in their operations and the way they treat their patients.

IN TERMS OF CARE AND QUALITY, WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL AND A PUBLIC HOSPITAL

CARE:

Private hospitals provides more care to their patients, they ensure that all patients are well cared for, they give quality care and treatment to everyone needing their services, they ensure they have a one on one relationship between doctors and patients, they have a comfortable facilities to enable maximum services to their patients which makes them more comfortable.

Public hospitals provides care sluggishly to their patients, they always joke with a patient health, they do not take their work seriously because they do not have anyone to be accountable to, they are harsh to their patients. They do not have well equipped facilities to enable maximum services to their patients. The doctors do not establish a close relationship with their patients, sometimes they leave their patients under the care of a nurse.

QUALITY:

Private hospitals provides quality service to their patients, they ensure they give their patients the best treatment, they value the lives of each individual, the staff at private hospitals fears their boss, that is why they are more serious with their job

Public hospitals do not like providing quality services to their patients, the staff at public are always arrogant and do not like doing their work.

DIFFERENCE IN COST OF TREATMENT IN PUBLIC HOSPITAL AND PRIVATE HOSPITAL

In my country the cost of treatment varies from each hospital, private hospitals charge more than public hospitals because of their quality services, I haven't been to a private hospital before as such I cannot tell the exact price of service charge there but all I do know is that private hospitals charge more than public hospitals.

HOSPITAL I WILL PREFER FOR CHECK UP AND WHY

I prefer public hospital, despite their harsh treatment and poor services they have well trained personnel in different area, they have qualified doctors and nurses working in the public hospitals.
In private hospitals, there is only one or two qualified doctor(s), in any case of emergency, they will put a call through for the public hospital to provide them with a doctor, this action post a threat to the life of the patient in emergency, but if it is a public hospital, doctors and nurses are all on duty ready to help.

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE HOSPITAL

I was hospitalised during my child birth, and was admitted in the public hospital, that was where I did my antinatal, they have well trained doctors and nurses I different areas, they are all connected and work hand in hand with each other, but they like skipping work, keeping it for the next person on duty,I was treated nicely though but when my situation got out of hand , the doctor turned her back against me complaining the doctor who was on duty before her would have carried out the surgery but he refused and shift it to her turn as such she is shifting it to the next day for the next doctor.
I was in labour from morning till midnight, they took turn to shift the work until it reaches this particular doctors turn,It was after severe pleading that she decided to carry out the surgery, this experience make me know that those working in the public hospital doesn't value human lives.
