STOMACH ULCER 101

in #health7 years ago

A stomach ulcer is usually caused by infection with a germ called Helicobacter pylori (H.plori). The human stomach normally produces acid to aid the digestion of food and also kill bacteria. Some cells on the lining of the stomach and the first part of the small intestine produce a mucous barrier which protects the lining of the stomach and duodeum, there's usually a balance between the amount of acid you produce and the mucous defence barrier.
An ulcer may develop if there is a default in the balance thereby allowing the acid to damage the lining of the stomach.
The causes may include Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori), anti - inflammatory medicines such as aspirin.anatomy-254129_1280.jpg
