Valley of Geysers

The Valley of Geysers is a part of the Kronotsky Reserve - one of the National Parks of Kamchatka. This unique corner of nature for our country was discovered only in 1941. In a small area (no more than 4 square kilometers) there are 200 thermal springs, in which there are 90 geysers emitting boiling water for tens of meters upward. The valley is 160 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and since 1991 it has been opened for visiting by organized groups of tourists. In 2007, a large landslide fell asleep part of the valley, and several geysers were under the rubble. The Kamchatka Valley of Geysers is the only one in Eurasia and one of the largest in the world.
